Beginners Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Feb 19, 2012 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Boltz should be used for beginners to develop their skills or for seasoned players to tweak their skills due to it's simple layout. The course is really flat and most of the holes are pretty short. There are many obstacles to look out for, mostly trees. The biggest, and more challenging, obstacle is a ditch/creek that runs through the middle of the course, on hole #5 you throw over it from the tee.

Cons:

The biggest problem that occurs on this course is in the ditch/creek between holes #8 and #9 is infested with small shrubs and tall grass. These shrubs will literally eat your disc and it is usually a rough of finding them in the grass.

Other Thoughts:

Recently there was a huge snow storm that destroyed a few of the trees on the course. Example: Hole 2, when you are at the tee there is a huge tree just to the left of the tee that has this huge branch that is now just a huge obstacle that right-handed sidearm/ left-handed backhand have to avoid.

Solid 9 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Oct 19, 2008 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

I really enjoy playing this course, one can get a round in when on a tight schedule. This course has enough variety to make you come back fairly often. Good mix of challenging and easy holes with a drainage creek and large trees throughout. Blind shot on 1 and hard to see pins on a couple others add to the challenge. Decent length for a Junior High that lets the drivers work a little bit on a couple holes.

Cons:

Short tee pads and mildly rugged. School hours inhibit play, but I hear they don't mind too much. No major cons otherwise. Watch out anytime a stray shot lands in someone's backyard, please be courteous when retrieving discs. Houses are next to the course on holes 5,6,7, and 8. Not too big of a concern though. Don't throw in the tennis courts on 1 and 2 since the fence is high and the court is sometimes locked. No facilities.

Other Thoughts:

Have to say it is a fun course, and I'm glad to see it's still there. Great alternative on weekends when Edora gets slammed with foot traffic.
