Pros:

(1.113 Rating) A nice park setting for this family friendly beginners course.
- FORGIVENESS - The odds of losing a disc due to an errant shot is near impossible. You'd have to forget to pick up to lose one here.
- MAINTENANCE - The grounds appear to be constantly mowed, trimmed and manicured. I don't recall seeing any trash on my visit.
- QUICK PLAY - A single should complete a full 9 in under 25 minutes. Groups of 4 probably would finish in under 45 minutes.
- ACEABILITY - Every holes but (#3) is highly aceable. Great opportunity for a recreational player to get an ace.
- NAVIGATION - I posted a map of the course in the files area as I actually struggled my first time here. There are a few holes that I saw more than one potential basket to shoot at. Using the map I posted combined with the openness of the course, you should have no trouble blowing right through this one on first attempt.
- CHAINS - The baskets are in great shape.
- GROW THE SPORT - No doubt will this course aid in growing the sport by offering easy access to learn the game at a neighborhood park course.

Cons:

Buckhorn is not designed for skilled players.
- UNIQUENESS - The holes themselves in terms variety are well below average. To seasoned players, they are almost all short and straight putter runs. Hole (3) is perhaps the one exception as you will have to throw your disc overhead due to the six foot high fence right in front of you.
- CHARACTER - The course is mainly just baskets and tees markers. No map or descriptive tee signs. Tee markers do have a hole number and directional arrow towards the basket on them. The tees are mostly un-shaded and all natural grass for surface. The tee line is improvisation only with the adjacent marker. There is also no seating at holes (not that you'd need it ) but there is two small shelters with each having a picnic table. There is also a rules of the game and etiquette sign at hole (1).
- BASKET AND TEE SEPERATION - There are numerous occurrences where the basket and next tee are perilously close. Several times they are separated by less than 30 feet.
- SPACING - Well below average, Several of the fairways feel partially shared. Course also plays around a bunch of other park uses including a volleyball court, playground and basketball court. But perhaps what will most impact your round is the walking path that loops around the course. I had to stop several times for walkers using this path as it appears to get heavy use.
- DIFFICULTY - Way too easy for everyone but beginners and recreational players. Many seasoned players will come away dissatisfied if they don't shoot 8 or 9 down.
- LOCATION - Course is a trek to get to from the interstate highway system. A good 30 minutes from I75 and its tucked way into a neighborhood. GPS is a must to find this course.

Other Thoughts:

A beginners and recreational players course. It's a quick play if you feel the need to play every course once. For those in the area looking to play only one course or for one with a more substantial challenge, please consider checking out nearby Limona instead (I rated it 3.183) or make the trek to beautiful Edward Medard (3.699)

Pros:

9 holes of disc golf
Baskets are in great shape
Great seeing a disc golf course in a multi-use park.
If you live nearby it would be a great course to practice putting and upshots.

Other than that, that is about all the positive that can be said for this course.

Cons:

Other park users constantly come into play. Holes are extremely short and take pretty much no skill. If you have any decent skills expect to have a very good look at birdie on every hole. Hole 2 is the only one with any obstacle with a guardian tree on the hyzer route.

Don't play this course if you are in the area unless you are at Limona and want to see something different. You would be better off playing Limona again than going to this course.

Other Thoughts:

Not a lot to this course. 9 holes pretty much dead straight and short with no obstacles. Happy to see a disc golf course in a multi-use park. In many ways this doesn't work so well here because of the proximity of the pins to the playgrounds, courts, and soccer field. If anyone else is using this park it will be an inconvenience.

I won't play this course again and would probably only play it if I lived within 5 minutes of it. I hate to down a disc golf course but this course really has no challenge. Only other reason to play this park is if you have hit 99% of the courses in Florida and need to round out playing every course in the state.
