Newest Course in Jackson 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Feb 2, 2012 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

- challenging course with a variety shots and hole types (long to short, open and wooded)
- baskets are in good shape and most are numbered
- generally a low number of pedestrians and others to share the park with; in other words, you play disc golf unimpeded
- fields are cut very regularly by the city
- restroom facilities

Cons:

- only a few benches
- natural tees
- it can get really wet and marshy, especially after a long rainy season (like Spring 2013)

Other Thoughts:

To find the course within the park, go past the ball golf driving range and take a right when the road T's. Then go past all the soccer fields. When you see hole #3 tee on your left and basket #2 on your right, take a right on that road, and it will lead you to hole #1.

This course serves the Clinton area as well as western Jackson. It is a very long course mainly b/c of hole 3 (1030 ft), hole 5 (708 ft), and hole 11 (616 ft). There is a fair amount of OB with the roads winding through the course.

Bring a stool for this long course; you won't see a bench until hole 16.

An umbrella is not a bad idea either on sunny days since there is no shade on the open holes.

Longest Course in Jackson 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Apr 5, 2012 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

-The baskets are in good condition, although not sure what type they are.
-Great flow to the course. Loops back to the start.
-The grass never gets too out of control, as the park is maintained by the city of Jackson.
-Good variety of shots required, and is a very challenging course.

Cons:

-No concrete tee pads.

Other Thoughts:

My title may not be 100% inaccurate, but it's a very long course. One hole is over 1000 feet. Overall, this is one of the worst Judges courses in my opinion, but that is comparing against some very strong courses, so overall it's still a very good course.

Buddy Butts park is huge. It has a Driving Range (ball golf), soccer fields, RC car course, walking/biking trails, and probably lot's more.
