Pros:

The course plays around one of the housing complexes at Camp Pendleton. There are a few minor elevation changes that add some variety to the shots, and a couple holes where you have to throw around some small trees or the corner of the building. There is a variety of hole lengths from barely over 100' to around 300', but overall the course stays pretty short and beginner friendly. The tee signs are visible and offer the hole distance (in yards), and all the tees are on nice flat sidewalk. The discatchers are brand new, and in great shape.

Cons:

The course plays almost entirely on concrete. All but one of the fairways are concrete walkways around the barracks, and the last one is on gravel and crosses two walkways. This course definitely will chew up your discs, as every throw will hit concrete, small sharp rocks, or a stucco building, all of which love to rip chunks out. Besides the safety issue of playing on main walkways, nearly every throw risks breaking windows or going through nearby picnic areas.

Other Thoughts:

I think it's great that Camp Pendleton decided to put in a course for the Marines, but it seems very odd to me that they put it in around buildings like this when there is so much great land within walking distance that appears unused. That said, if there aren't people around this can be a fun beginner layout, as long as those beginners are given soft discs that are less likely to go through windows. More experienced players will have some fun playing with the slides and skips off the concrete here, but it doesn't really offer any variety or challenge.
