My Favorite 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 19, 2008 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

A wide variety of hole lay-outs and pon placements, lots of elevation changes, not too busy, you get a good workout.

Cons:

some trails to the next hole aren't very well marked, really wooded holes at times.

Other Thoughts:

I saw a hawk on my last visit there. I love this course, a great way to spend the morning on an autumn day!

Cass Benton 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Sep 9, 2008 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

This a great course with many challenging holes, both for accuracy in the woods, and for those times you need to drive the distance. Many holes have pro and am tees that make for a greater challenge. Beautiful setting along scenic Hines Drive.

Cons:

This course is the busiest course I have ever played. Very busy at peak times around 5pm, and on weekends. Tons of trees have come down in the woods over the past several years making some of the holes a bit easier and some of the holes a bit harder. Tons of vandalism and tons of trash on course.

Other Thoughts:

Best time to play this course is in the early morning. The Pictures of the course make it look much better than what it actually looks like now.
It wouldn't hurt to move #2 basket to the right side of the bushes on the bottom to let some grass grow back on the hillside.

Beautiful 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 22, 2008 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

This course is beautiful, from the first tee through the woods, to a 700+ beast, to a long dog leg at the end. When I first played this, I went from wanting to check out a new course to finding a new love for the game. There is no water except for a small stream on one hole, but the variety of terrane is all you need.

Cons:

THe course is trashed with beer caps EVERYWHERE. One rainy days some trails are impossible to walk through.

Challenging but Possible to Score 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 17, 2008 Played the course:never

Pros:

This is my home course and still my favorite to date. It has a great mix of wooded and open holes that let you throw all out. Hole 2 (for me) is the most difficult. It is a long open (at first) par 3 but don't be deceived. The basket placement is very tricky. Number three is the most amazing view from the pro tees. Holes 5 and 17 are very forgiving from pro tees, easily can be birdied if you stay out of trouble.

Cons:

Honestly, after playing this course over 40 times, the only issue is the crowd it sometimes draws. Someone wanted to fight me last year because he claimed I said something about him. He was drunk out of his mind. But generally people leave you alone. Don't let that keep you away from this amazing and challenging course.

Other Thoughts:

This course is also generally very busy in the afternoon and even more so in the evening, especially the weekend. Mornings are usually when I play to avoid crowds. With two people you can usually get in 18 in about an hour and a half with no one in front of you.

course with everything! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 5, 2008 Played the course:never

Pros:

one of the best courses i've ever played. mix of shade/sun, open and woods, elevation and flat. also has good tees and baskets with lots of blind and challenging holes. am tees are great for beginners and pro tees keep the challenges up to improve skills.

friendly people you can join up with to make the game go quicker. plenty of players to help you look for lost discs.

ability to start at hole 1/10 or 13 (at other parking area) if course has big groups. new / used discs for sale by individuals on most days.

Cons:

loads of dead, downed and vandalized trees have changed the course and its obstacles. have to climb over a few of them on hole 9. extremely busy course with vandalized picnic tables, signs and trees. alcoholic beverages are NOT ALLOWED, patrolled randomly. large groups slow down the course sometimes.

Other Thoughts:

lots of non-golf traffic in this course, dont expect a lost disc to stick around. police stake out hole 6 "party table" a lot... also saw the mounted police arrest someone for marijuana once. sometimes get clueless picnic people who think they can set up camp on hole 5.

Thick woods, long holes 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 29, 2008 Played the course:never

Pros:

Dense woods intermixed with wide open, very long holes. Lots of steep hills means good opportunities for practicing uphill and downhill throws.

This course is long, with the white tee of the third hole being over 700 ft. from the basket, and a few other holes being well over 400 ft. Players with big arms will definitely enjoy it.

Cons:

Very crowded. Missing signs at multiple holes means you guess at yardage and par. There's a very confusing layout in the middle of the course, around the 9th hole - you may need someone to point out where the next few holes are if you haven't played it before. Thick trees can be frustrating, and several holes require blind throws.

Good Mix 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 8, 2008 Played the course:never

Pros:

A good mix of challenges here, some elevation, some open long shots, some technical through the woods, a little bit of water here and there. Nicely designed course in a county park setting. Dual tees on most of the holes add some variety. Good mix of easier and tougher holes.

Cons:

Was a bit wet and muddy when I played here, and a concerted effort by the locals to pick up after themselves would help the appearance. Some vandalism on signs here and there.

Other Thoughts:

Online map available on website which is very helpful in navigating course.

Best of both worlds 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 16, 2008 Played the course:never

Pros:

The elevation change is awesome here. Everything is marked very well. Has a nice mix of tough and easy holes. Tight wooded shots and some nice wide open field shots with some majour elevation change.

Cons:

The traffic can get pretty bad there. Other then that nothing to complain about. Sometimes a little wet, but no big deal.

Other Thoughts:

For the amount of people who play here on a daily basis this park is very clean. Everything is very well kept and it's actually one of the few courses in the area that are a full 18 and you don't have to pay to play. A must stop if your in the area.
