Fun for the kids. 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Mar 18, 2009 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

The course is centrally located between two solid courses - Anges Moffitt Park (18) & T.C. Jester Park (9), which makes it a good pit stop if you'd really like to get an elusive ace.

Perfect course to take out people new to the sport. With no serious golfers interested in stopping - the course is deserted, so I had time to work with my wife on her drives and putts. She enjoyed the course a lot since if she made a bad throw, she could take the time to get her disc and throw it again.

This is also a great course for little kids and strollers. The first three holes are enclosed in a fenced playground area, so the kids can play and you can practice short drives and long putts from various distances.

BEST HOLE/S: #1, #2, #3

Cons:

This course is on elementary school property; so don't plan on playing during school hours. Also, watch for the ample fire ant hills on holes 4-9 in the front of the building area.

Obviously, based on the short length, any experienced golfer doesn't need to waste there time stopping here. Besides the length issue, the layout is pretty bad - if you aren't able to jump a fence - you'll have to walk completely around the school to get from hole three to four. The pin on hole one is crooked, number nine pin is labeled eight, and the tee sign for hole four is also missing, so consult the map on this site for a proper spot.

The area of town is slightly more ghetto than the Anges Moffit area down the road, and some creepy guy waiting for a bus stared at us the entire time we were on holes six and seven.

WORST HOLE/S: #7

Other Thoughts:

My 1.0 rating is based on what a normal disc golfer would probably rate this course. My wife however said she would give it a 3.0-3.5 rating because she enjoyed the fact that she could finally par some holes, and felt comfortable being the only people on the course. She could basically practice without holding up groups of people like she would at Anges Moffitt or another more popular course.

If you want an ace or many birdies - you could make a quick pit stop here before traveling onto T.C. Jester or Anges Moffitt. If you have small children or someone learning the basics of the game, and you don't want to be bothered by other golfers - this may also be a good choice - other than that you probably don't need to waste your time.

Very short 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 12, 2007 Played the course:never

Pros:

Great course for the kids. Also a good course to work on your short game.

Cons:

Very short. You can not play during school hours. Tee markers hard to find.

Other Thoughts:

This is a good practice course , but that is it. Its also a great course for beginners to learn the game, or a good course for families. If you can throw over 200 ft, don't bother with this course. Agness Moffit and TC Jester are just down the road from this course, so go there instead.
