they do have nine baskets 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 16, 2022 Played the course:once

Pros:

It does have all nine baskets and nine tee post

Cons:

Holes one and two that start on the southeast of the school are fine. Then you have to walk to the southwest of the school it is too far and holds three four and five are too close to cars and parking lot and too Short. Then you go into the school grounds there are over 100 people here at all times the holes are all less than 100 ft plane across playgrounds sidewalks and soccer fields that are always in use they're almost unplayable

Other Thoughts:

Start at the southeast but the last holes are almost unplayable due to other Park use

It's A Shame This Course Isn't Better! 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 23, 2017 Played the course:once

Pros:

For a simple little 9 hole school pitch and putt course, Cedar Brook Elementary has the potential to be a viable contributor to Houston's already impressive array of courses. So why isn't it? Two glaring problems are holding it back. First, the # 1 and 3 baskets are currently missing and have been for quite some time. Secondly, the fact that the course circles the school but the back part of the school is locked up like a maximum security prison. What are they doing to our children back there that they wish to keep such a secret? Now, please understand what I'm saying here. I'm saying that IF these two problems were fixed then this would be a cool little pitch and putt/beginner/easy rec course. It would generate a lot of play from locals and families. It wouldn't be a threat to White Oak or Agnes Moffitt.

The course starts in the fenced area beside the parking lot and is trying to play around the school in a counter clockwise direction. There are no tee pads or signage but there are little 4" x 4" poles with the hole number routered in. The baskets are older models (Discatchers ?) and have been painted a dull yellow.

I think the # 1 basket may have been lost due to some new construction.

# 2 is a a short little 120' throw to a basket semi-guarded by some bushes and small trees.

# 3. I'll assume this basket was ripped off as there is plenty of space where this basket could be placed.

# 4. This is where the course really disappoints. You should be able to continue walking around to the back of the school here to play # 4. Instead, you are met with razor wire, locked gates, armed security guards and snarling German Shepards.. it's like trying to escape into East Berlin. OK, a slight exaggeration but it is fenced and locked up forcing you to trek all the way around the school in order to reach # 4.

# 4 is about 175' throw with woods on your right.

# 5 is around 140', with one tree to throw around.

# 6 is an even easier straight 120' Ace run.

# 7 is an open 130' Ace run.

# 8 is shorter at around 110' but is set behind lots of trees and bushes. Either a low hyser or a sweeping annie is the answer here.

# 9. Plays about 125' but you need to keep your drive under the branches.

Cons:

Elementary lengths and challenges.

Missing baskets.

Horrible flow due to locked fencing.

Almost no signage,

No real tee pads.

Other Thoughts:

It really depressed me that this course suffers so from these two flaws. So many local, younger, older, less skilled players and newbie players could enjoy playing here. As it sits now, I guess I would just play it as a 6 hole course playing from 4 to 9. There's very little reason to mess with # 2.

Even if the two missing baskets were replaced, the course flow is so bad, it alone would eliminate most players.

ace run central 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 12, 2017 Played the course:once

Pros:

Has all 9 tee posts
Has 7 baskets
Every hole is an ace run

Cons:

Long walk from hole 3 to 4 because they have fenced off walking the shorter way.

Baskets 1 and 3 are missing

Other Thoughts:

If you play here, you only need a putter.

Park by the playground and walk around the school to hole 4 to start. Hole 9 is next to the parking lot. If you can get into the playground area, there is one basket left. However the park is very popular with the local residence and it may be very crowded.

Would I play here again.

No, even if I lived nearby, Might be a fun place to play a game of 51 though.

Fine for kids 2+ years

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:May 26, 2008 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Neatly maintained course on school property. Playground amenities for kids. Tee signs easily visible. Only hole #8 is of any challenge to an experienced player and is a very difficult hole for the target audience of juniors, it seems out of place.

Cons:

With no holes over 180' this course is too short to be played seriously by anyone other than Junior players. Most of the holes are wide open 150' chip shots to the basket. No significant challenges on eight of the nine holes.

Navigating from hole #3 to #4 is awful. You either jump the fence or walk all the way around the school. Poor design there.

The tee sign post for #4 was missing when played on 5/30/2009.

Other Thoughts:

Adult players don't go out of your way to find this course unless it's for the purpose of eight easy ace runs or nine should-be-birdie holes. But considering this course is on the property of an elementary school it will hopefully expose lots of kids to the sport of disc golf and get them interested. This course would rate reasonably high for it's intended demographic of kids, but for adult players it's not worth a trip; especially considering that Moffitt is just three miles down the road.
