This was a great experience for a newb. This reminded me of that cousre in North Carolina the pros played. Lots of hills or mountains if your like me. Lots of trees but not overbearing as far as lies. I like that they had paper maps a ailable, you will need it.

None that I could see that bothered me

Wear good shoes and take plenty of water. Lots of fun. Bring the family. There's a small creek on one of the whloles. It was a great time

This course uses elevation excellently and there is a good mix of short, moderate, and longer holes too.
There were benches and trashcans throughout the course and the course is well maintained, and virtually litter free.
There are good lines here to make for excellent discing and a good mix of L/R shots as well as dog legs.
The signage is good and there are directional arrows to keep you headed in the right direction. The course flows logically and there are multiple tees.
Some holes have ACE RUN potential.
There are other amenities here like a playground, restrooms, and a RC airplane park just to name a few. The threat of roll a way putt adds that extra challenge to keep your aim honest.
The foot bridge on 4 was a nice little touch to help in crossing the stream.
This course is quiet and scenic and has an excellent amount of shade. As mentioned in previous reviews each basket has a string to mark your putt to see if you are in the circle. This is a unique(to me anyways as I've never seen this before)feature.
The tees were natural and provided excellent grip and a proper run up.
There is water threat on a few holes, mainly 8, which made for a great hole.
My favorite holes were 4, 8, and 18.

There could be a lot of leaves on the ground during the fall/winter. Keeping an eye on your disc during these months would make finding your disc a bit easier.
Low lying areas could get a bit soggy after a solid rain.
Some players might complain because the terrain might chew up a DX/Baseline plastic disc. This wasn't an issue for me however.

I throughly enjoyed my round here and would play this course again in a heartbeat. I can't say enough good things about this course. This is a course that will test your shot shaping abilities as well as your mental approach. This isn't a grip and rip course, so if you like a wide open course then you're out of luck here. Accuracy is needed here but the course isn't so tight that you will be frustrated. You will get a good workout here with the terrain, so prepare accordingly.
I really like the way the course gives you 2 shorter holes after the monster that is Hole 10.
This is one of the best courses that I've played and it is a must play if you are in the area. You owe it to yourself to take a little roadtrip and enjoy the quality that this course offers. I think you will be glad you did!

-This course is situated on one of the most beautiful pieces of land I have ever seen. It is nestled near Hot Springs National Park in a secluded park.
-The course has fantastic elevation and utilizes it very well. Most of the holes have a pin position + or - at least 10 feet of elevation from the tee.
-The signs were great. As a first timer I had no problem figuring out where the next hole was. There are course maps at the billboard near the first hole to take with you on the course.
-The course has some amazingly long holes including #10 that is 700+ ft from the short tee and 900+ from the long tee. The 18th hole is also a very nice, long hole and in my opinion is the second most memorable hole at the course.
-There are 30' strings tied to the bottom of each basket to determine if your disc is within the circle. I have never seen that and thought that that was a very interesting and unique aspect of the course.
-Even with the huge amount of trees there is a distinct "fairway" on each hole.
-Since my initial review in 2012, the tee pads have been upgrade to rubber from gravel. The overall rating of this course is sagged down by 12 year old reviews that list the old gravel tee pads as cons.

-Besides the 3 LONG holes every other holes is relatively short and can be reached with a putter or midrange.

There are a few fairways that cross and to walk to other tees may involve dangerously walking in another hole's fairway. I came and played here when it was completely empty but I can see in league or tournament play the discs could be hazardous.
-Because of the large amount of trees there is a blanket of leaves that cover the ground in the fall and winter. If you are not careful and do not watch your disc carefully then you can easily lose a disc.

This course is one of my favorite courses I have ever played. I came to Hot Springs on vacation and really enjoyed my three rounds out here. It has a very secluded, and serene atmosphere. I would drive way out of my way if I lived even within 60 miles of this course. This is a course that all serious golfers should come and play.

Home course-This was a course that got me hooked on frolfing. I have played this course 30 plus times and have a different experience every time. Some highlights are Hole 8(water hole) and hole 10(called the humbler, almost 800) feet. My first and only ACE occurred at this course on hole 12. It is a hard course with amazing surroundings. Love it!

The only con that i can think of is that the grass sometimes is higher than it should be but overall no big deal during fall/winter.

Par is 59 so first timers have a challenge of getting there in my estimation.

This is an elevation lovers delight! This place has a great variety of hole lengths. Depending on the tees you choose, the holes can range from 102 to 912 feet long. The woods here have some amazing and fantastic trees. One hole has a beautiful pond that you look down on to from your driving perch at the tee. I loved the wonderful, built-up, level teed pads with the rubber surfaces. The baskets are in great shape. Some of the basket locations are very cool, due to the surroundings that may let an arrant putt go down a hill. The signage here is very nice. A small map with par and footage is posted on the short tee signage. There are some seating areas at many of the holes. There is a nice message board with color maps available (at least the day I was there) at that location. There are trashcans and there is a restroom at the beginning of the course.

Because of the awesome elevation, if there are people playing behind you, it is important to yell, "CLEAR," when you are off the hole. I've seen snakes here but nothing poisonous and they were not a bother. You will need the map to find your way around the course as there are a couple of times where it was tough to find where to go next.

The Fun Factor here was outstanding! This was one of the most fun places I have played. It will get marked as a favorite for me. There was hardly a single hole I did not want to throw multiple drives on. The short holes made you want to fire again for the ace, and the longer holes were the kind where you wanted to work another disc around those trees. It was just a great location (being built on some wooded foothills) that makes you feel as the whole place was made for disc golf.

I hate to use the same descriptions as others before me, but epic, mountainous, tight/technical, and rugged are the 4 best words to describe Cedar Glades DGC, another homerun from course designer John Houck.

As you pull into the park you're greeted with a panoramic view of the surrounding tree-covered hills, which gives you a clear idea of what the next few hours have in store for you. The entire course plays up and down hills (some very steep) through fairly thick woods, but with no underbrush to worry about....there are absolutely ZERO open holes here. There are several long holes that might offer a slight advantage to the big arms, but there really aren't any places where you can just "grip it and rip it." Accuracy and course management are the keys to success here...and a healthy cardiovascular system will help too

11 of the 18 holes have a long and a short tee, but for simplicity's sake I'll try to give a description of the terrain, not the shots you have to throw.
The first 2 holes ease you into the mountainous terrain, as the elevation changes on these holes aren't quite as drastic as what's ahead. Hole 3 plays downhill through an alley of trees that narrows near the basket, and the short Hole 4 plays straight up the side of a hill with a near vertical angle. Hole 5 is one of the more traditional holes...a slight anhyzer to a protected pin, with the only serious elevation change being a downward slope behind the basket. I had a good bid for birdie roll almost 100' down that hill, so be careful. Hole 6 is a fairly long (375ish) tight shot that finishes to the left and downhill. Hole 7 from the shorts is a <100' ace run over a steep gorge, but from the longs it's a blind up-then-down-then-up-again 400'+ monster with the course's only thick schule on the right. Hole 8 is the most beautiful...a steep downhill ace-run through a tight gap, with a crystal-clear creek running along the right. Hole 9 from the shorts is a straight alley shot to a basket perched on an incline...but from the longs its a treacherous blind anhyzer. Hole 10 is a fairly simple hyzer, which gives you a short break before the courses signature hole...the epic near-1000' Hole 11. This hole plays uphill and to the right off the tee, and the first half of the fairway plays alongside a fairly steep hill, then through a tunnel in the trees before opening up to the only flat/open/grassy portion of the course. Hole 12 is another short uphill ace-run, 13 is another midrange-distance hole that plays straight ahead. 14 is another birdieable shot..playing slightly downhill to the left. Hole 15 is another tough one with the entire hole playing down a fairly narrow tunnel with semi-thick woods on both sides. Holes 16 and 17 give you 2 more chances at birdies before stepping up to the big finisher. Hole 18 plays downhill from the tee, then uphill through a portion of the park dotted with small-to-medium trees with an OB fence behind the basket.

The different between the short and long tees (for me) was about 8-9 strokes. Many of the holes play completely different from each separate tee.

Nice Discatcher baskets, new signage (no longer hand-drawn images on a 4x4 post), and pretty decent crushed shingle tees lined out with railroad ties...not to mention clean restrooms and a pavilion with plenty of seats.

Tee areas...I do like the feel of the crushed shingles, but they need to be packed down a little more often to keep them all level. On most holes it isn't an issue, but there are a few with foot-sized ruts at the front of the box. Also, the railroad ties that outline the boxes do get in the way on a few of the longer holes.

You'll probably want to use a spotter on some of the blind holes (5, 6 Long, 7 Long)...

This course will definitely test your ability to throw from a standstill or with very limited footing. Many holes have large rocks, and almost all have steep elevation changes that keep you from being able to get a run-up depending on where you land. It will also test your ability to putt from elevation...this is the part that usually messes with my game the most. Neither of those are necessarilly a Pro or a Con though.

The city of Hot Springs is a fun place to walk around and be a tourist. The course is actually only 5-8 minutes away from the popular historic downtown area, which has tons of little shops and bars/restaurants.

The local club has already begun designing a 2nd course in the park, and the city has supposedly considered installing as many as 5 course in the same area!

Long story short, if you're within a few hundred miles of Hot Springs...go there and play Cedar Glades!!
