Nice course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Jan 27, 2009 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Very well loved and often played course. The locals here have definitely spent some time walking these fairways as the trails are well worn. This makes the course easy to navigate. The course has a nice variety of shots, including some ace runs and some nice tunnel shots. The woods are pretty thick, but there are lines there to be had, which makes you think a little bit about shot selection sometimes. The course will require technical/accuracy shots and there are a few holes where you can unleash a good, long drive, although a huge arm is not required to par any hole out here. You had better be a good putter though - some of the baskets are on the sides of hills and if you miss, you're looking at a 5 or 6 - some will even take you OB.

Cons:

As some others have said, it can be crowded and it's in a college town, so the crowd can be there at any time. Update: Hole 13 is one of the most poorly laid out holes I have ever played. There really is no line - it's a lucky shot if you make it through. Don't let it keep you from playing this course though. Just try for a 3 and move on.

Other Thoughts:

Several holes are blind shots, which can be frustrating for first timers, and with the woods, can also result in a lost disc.

The locals are really friendly and will help you out.

Another tip: Going from hole 10's basket to 11's tee requires that you go around the pool area. It's the only one that's not easliy found from pin to next tee.

I would recommend this course if you're passing through.

Path of least resistance 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 18, 2008 Played the course:once

Pros:

Nice concrete pads and Discatcher targets and lots of woods make this one special little course. I like the fact you throw into the woods and you seldom come out. The back 9 is that way and it's my favorite 9 holes around this area.
Traffic keeps these woods clean and trampled down so losing a disc doesn't happen often. It's close to a college and 5 minutes from restaurants and shopping.

Cons:

Bugs and skeeters and oppressive humidity in August. Bathroom could use a good cleaning. Hiking trails are close and run next to some of the holes.

Other Thoughts:

The elevation changes here are just right. You don't get wore out walking up and down hills. Some really memorable holes and some tough pin placements. If you are close to Murray, Ky. make it a point to stop by for a round.

Up and Down 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jan 2, 2009 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Great tee pads and signs. Easy to navigate. Holes that will challenge the best player yet still give the beginner a fun experience in woods style courses.

Cons:

Seemed to be more holes that go right than left. If you have a great forehand shot or are left handed you will definitely have an advantage here.

Home Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Mar 26, 2008 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Variety of shots. Lines are clearly defined, with well worn fairways. On a nice day you can almost always find players out. This is a course that can challenge a newer player, but still be a fun round for the more advanced.

Cons:

Park can be quite crowded at times, often have course walkers/runners. Getting off the fairway can lead to "interesting" shots.

Other Thoughts:

Overall a great course that has been welled played in it's short existence. The back 9 starts across the street from where #9 finishes and 11's tee is on the other side of the pool from 10. Local club generally meets around 1:00 or 1:30 PM Sunday afternoons. New Park Director is gung ho for some disc golf so expect some great things coming out of this course in the near future.

The open shots normally end up having to go into the woods or past some trees

Other Thoughts:

Great way to spend the day

My home course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Feb 5, 2008 Played the course:once

Pros:

Good signs, concrete tee pads.

Challenging layout that requires a variety of shots.

Well maintained.

Cons:

If you miss the fairway you probably won't have a shot at the basket.

Hole 12 is difficult to navigate because it goes down a very steep hill. There are stairs but they are too far apart.

Other Thoughts:

A difficult course with most holes in the woods. Par 58.

After hole 10 walk around the pool to get to the tee for hole 11.
