Par 3 Ball Course Converted 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Dec 24, 2021 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

- Wide open course with nice clear shots
- Elevation changes make your throws interesting
- Holes are well laid out following the old tee pads and follow the greens from the ball course
- Not too much wind as the course is nestled between large buildings

Cons:

- There are two "catch ponds" that I would suggest staying away from. The mud is super soft and there appears to be no bottom.
- Hole 16 can make you lose a putter faster than you can wink. Have someone stand on the backside "pond" side of the hill. If your disc doesn't go into the basket it will roll into the pond.
- Very dry and there are a ton of groundhogs on the east side of the course. Watch for holes that will eat a foot and break an ankle.
- Do your best to keep your discs out of the creek in the middle of the course between the ponds. The water moves pretty good. The vegetation thrives on the nastiness of the ponds and will likely eat a disc or two. Keep an eye on where your disc potentially enters the creek.

Other Thoughts:

I did enjoy the fact that this course has lots of interesting elevation gains and losses. A few baskets have been moved. I have not been out to the course after a rain or during a "wet" year. 2021 was a dry one for Colorado. As long as the grass is kept short you should be good.

A local's perspective 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Mar 19, 2015 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Really nice tee pads
Never crowed Six cars in the parking lot on the weekends is a lot and half of those are runners or dog walkers.
It drains well when expo is under water and village greens is a mud pit this place will be wet but playable.

Cons:

It's a pitch and put. If you can't thow 330 you might need to do an up shot on a few holes.
Not near as well maintend as you would hope. it gets mowed but rarely, there are downed trees that have been sitting there for months the Prairie dogs own holes 10-12. But none of these things are that uncommon with disc golf courses in general.

Other Thoughts:

Not a go out of your for it course unless having an 18 hole couse pretty much all to yourself is something you'd go out of your way for

Fun, easy layout, water and more water 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Nov 5, 2014 Played the course:once

Pros:

First, Bravo to the City of Aurora for putting in their second course!
Pros: fairly open, easy to navigate layout and not much chance for other players to cross your shots, multiple pins placements already laid and a couple holes have pro tees, takes advantage of some elevation on the property, lots of water shots and opportunity to use multiple shots to navigate water, loads of potential for expansion and opening a pro-shop.

Cons:

Did I mention the water?? This course is NOT for novice players that spray plastic! If you plan to play this course a good bit, might be worth the investment to get some floaters, waders and a retriever. Turf is a rough, but expected for a ball golf course that's been shut down for a long time. Course is really short with only a couple opportunities to stretch out your arm and bomb. I don't have huge distance, but I still used a mid/putt combo for the majority of the round.

Other Thoughts:

Bravo Aurora! Keep the courses coming and expand this one!
