Pros:

-Concrete Tee's, Metal Signs with map and distance.
-Course has a nice Flow that leads back to the Parking lot
-Good Range with adequate Distances.
-Clean, Well Maintained Rec Park
-Though not exempt from Park goers, the course is somewhat segregated from the rest of the park. (Not sure what the impact of ballgames would have on the course)
-Varying Terrain. Lots of up and down hill variations.
-Good for Beginners, but a person of any caliber could come here, play and have a good time.

Cons:

-Course can get a little repetiive, and it's true that some of the holes are just straight forward vanilla shots.

-Watch the Rough, especially on the other side of the fence near the pond. (Namely hole 8) I had a moonshine Escape go over the fence. After looking through disc eating brush, I never found it.

Other Thoughts:

There isn't much to this course. It may not be a destination course, per say. You could probably play here in less than 30 minutes. (Time spent looking for discs in the rough, not accounted for in the previous sentence) However, it's perfect for a town the size of Chariton. It allows for players of All skills, and is excellent for bringing new players and non players out for a round.

It's a minimal challenge, and though I wouldn't necessarily drive out of my way to play there. I'm glad to see that people are playing there. If only to be a presence and draw people to the sport. but if you happen to driving across Southern Iowa on 34, it'd make a nice stop off for a quick round in a nice park.
