Did good with the land they had, but that hole 17. Oof.

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 2, 2022 Played the course:once

Pros:

The designers did a decent job with the amount of land they had. There are two pads for every basket. Holes 1-9 play shorter pads, and 10-18 play longer (some, quite a bit longer).

Cons:

The course doesn't seem well maintained. there was some mowing, but there were also holes that didn't look touched.

Now let's talk about hole 17. This may be the worst tee/tee position I've seen in the 12 years I've been playing. If not, at least top 3 worst. It's in the grass near the corner of two roads, facing tall trees. I mean, that's it. It's a grass (maybe turf?) pad facing the woods. The only shot is bling high hyzer way out right (RHBH) and hope that it will find the fairway below. We spotted each other and still had a hard time finding one of the discs. I'm not sure if the trees just grew out since the course was put in or what, but the pad needs moved.

Other Thoughts:

Like I said, it's an ok course and they did a decent job using the land they had. I recommend just playing 1-9 twice.

Pros:

Attempts to utilize a multi use park. Some creative hole designs.

Good beginner course.

Cons:

Tried to pack in too many hole options in a small park. A lot of up and downs. Fairways don't really offer realistic lines. Almost like you need to throw rollers/low frozen rope type shots on some of the longer tighter holes.

Only worth the stop if your local or traveling through the area and really itching for some DG. Otherwise keep going to either Dayton or Indy both an hour away on I70.

Other Thoughts:

Not a destination course by an means. A newer course in an area that is new to the disc golf scene. Good for Richmond, IN. for getting on board with DG!

Richmond really needs to step it up with a longer more advanced layout to attract DGers to their city. I hear word that Glenn miler a nearby park is going be that kinda of course. Let's hope it gets designed by folks who actually have experience in designing DG courses that offer real challenge.
