Here, you will hear, “The baskets over here!” 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 27, 2010 Played the course:once

Pros:

This is a fairly flat course with, lots of trees, OB, mandos, water, and some wild pin placements. When you first get to this 9-hole course it will look very simple from the road while looking at the first hole that is a simple wide-open hole. But once you venture in, you begin to realize this is rather a cool little course. Even the short holes were fun to throw on. The trees create some really cool obstacles, as some of the holes are just loaded with them. There are some friendly arrows along the way and well-mowed paths to find your way along. There are some hand painted tee signs and some unusual flag/markers above the baskets. They went for a kind of an art deco thing here.

Cons:

Not all the tee signs were present, legible, or on their poles. Sadly, the artistic side of this course's "extras" has not stood the test of time. Some of these things are broken, weather-beaten, or even missing. Some of the grass/dirt tee pads are starting to show some ruts. Some of the pins are so hidden by the pine trees (even on the short holes) that you are forced to walk ahead and find the basket before throwing. You could lose a disc in these pine trees as they catch everything and are really dense. Navigation Hole #9 with an OB-fence/water area on the immediate right edge a row of bushes on the immediate left contains a narrow fairway. If you can't carry the entire hole, it could be a chore. The fence by the water is climbable, but it is not something really want to be doing. There needed to me more trashcans here and the only bathroom close by is a ¼ mile up the road back at the park office.

Other Thoughts:

The Fun Factor here is a bit mixed. I hated not being able to see the disc land or see the basket from the tee, but the layout of the holes were actually kind of fun to throw on. I actually wanted to play this course again when I got done the first time around. You do have to pay ($4.20 at the time of this review) to get into this park in order to play both 9-hole courses here. I think this 9-hole course would be worth my coming back to play it just for the fun factor in the layout. If I had my choice, I would probably just play this course over and over and not venture to the other course, except to see the scenic view from the top of it.
