Little Brother of Fountain Hills 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jan 14, 2017 Played the course:once

Pros:

This course is a nice little desert course tucked around the First Baptist Church of Fountain Hills. There are maps and loaner discs at the first hole. There are a lot of fun little desert shots, some blind, some not. There are two mandos and even a "tunnel" shot. It requires you to use several different types of shots to play well.
The church has even installed lights so you can play night golf.

Cons:

There are only 6 baskets but 12 tees. You would think that each basket would have two tees, but that is not the case. Basket 6 gets played once and basket 4 gets played three times.
The terrain is VERY rough. I came close to falling on a couple of occasions.
The parking lot could cause a lot problems if there were people at the church.
It is asked that you not play during church functions, but based on several of the shots it would be impossible to play 4 or 5 holes if church were in session.
Because Fountain Hills DGC is just down the street, unless you are a course bagger there is no real reason to play this course.

Other Thoughts:

I played this course on a Saturday morning so there were no cars in the parking lot but mine. I really enjoyed this course. It's very short, but I have a noodle arm, so these small, tucked away courses appeal to me.
That being said the ground is very uneven and treacherous. Play with caution.
I was impressed by the thought the church put into this course. They area is VERY small, but they managed to create 12 holes. Well done.
However, with Big Brother down the street I can't imagine too many people going out of their way to play this course.
