New Redesign! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jan 31, 2020 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Completely redesigned. Good baskets (Innova DISCatchers). Great mix of tight technical shots and long bombs. Multiple lines on each hole gives you options. Multiple tees on most holes. New layout incorporates the pond in the middle of the park as well as Cow Bayou and the creeks to make for tough but manageable water carries. Good flow, Hole 1 starts close to the parking lot and 18 finishes there as well. Drainage is pretty good on most holes. Hole 7 is probably the signature hole, it's the one everyone talks about and is a challenging par 4. Hole 10 and 15 are other favorites.

Cons:

Natural tees make it tough when it is muddy, but the club is raising funds for new teepads and they will be going in soon. A couple of holes get soggy after rain. Sometimes the park is pretty crowded with non-disc golfers, especially on weekends. Most of the holes play away from the common areas, but a couple are near where people like to walk. Just keep an eye out. No tee signs yet, but they are coming.

Other Thoughts:

They knocked it out of the park with this redesign. It makes me want to come play here more often. The club has been bolstering its relationship with the park staff, and it's good. They want us to come play there. Since the redesign, the course has been put back in the rotation for minis and events. I heard they are going to be running some tournaments here soon. Overall, great job.
