Pros:
This is a well kept 9-hole course in a city park that is a mix of open holes and heavily wooded holes. The course is watered, so the grass is always in good shape and there is little or no erosion around the baskets. Each hole is constructed to present a slightly different challenge making the round interesting throughout. A few holes allow full throws, but most require some finesse. The woodsy course is quite lovely with views of a couple small lakes (that don't come into play) in the distance.
Cons:
There are rubber mat tee pads on each hole, but some of these have developed dips and bumps over the years. It would be nice if these could be leveled out. The fairways on this course are quite narrow, which is fine, but the surrounding rough is unforgiving in many places and it's not difficult to lose discs in the thick underbrush. I'd love to see at least the nastiest, thorniest bits of the rough thinned out. There is a small soccer practice field tucked in between the 2nd and 9th fairways, and if anyone is using that field, it can impact play on those holes. Generally the field is empty, so it's not often an issue.
Other Thoughts:
Though bugs were not an issue during my most recent visits here, mosquitoes and biting flies can be a problem Having bug spray available is advised. I also recommend long pants for those inevitable forays into the rough. With the exception for Fourth of July weekend, the park is generally quiet and I've never seen the course crowded. You can get a course map at the nearby community center. This will be helpful for first-timers.
