Pros:
In a beautiful soccer park in Fishers, IN, they've built a challenging, well-maintained, twin tee and basket position disc golf course that will pose fun gut-checks for Recreational to Intermediate players. Spacious, level, concrete tees lead to newer DisCatchers working their way counterclockwise around the second set of soccer fields at the back of the park, and just over the impressive creek-crossing bridge.
You will have plenty of opportunity to test your nerves playing the six holes that run through lightly wooded lanes right smack dab against the creek on your right side. If you bring a pair of waders or a 'golden retriever', you may be more comfortable trying the intended lines, especially from the longer tees. If you didn't, there's room to the field side to work a lot of shots from the left to the right, and only have to putt toward the creek (!).
The signage (at both tees) is new, and informative (though we were confused from the outset, as the distances seemed a lot shorter, until we realized the baskets were all in the shortest positions, and I marked that update here). Course flow is simple and intuitive, and just about every basket is visible from the tee. The holes that are away from the creek will give the bigger arms a momentary chance to air out a couple of throws. This is a clean and well-maintained park, with ample parking. In all, it's a fun play, and gives some variety between playing the long and the short tees. With A & B basket positions, the course can be kept fresh.
Cons:
The obvious issue with keeping your discs out of the water will smack you in the face when you walk up to the long tee for hole 1. While I chose to thread through the trees, the big, intended hyzer line will be just the first of your many opportunities to kick off a branch or a trunk and drop one in the drink.
If you come when the soccer fields are in full action mode, it's not really going to be safe to throw out on the left to right lines, either, so keep that in mind if you want to schedule a round here.
Other Thoughts:
We felt like natives in 'Fishers', Indiana, using our golden retriever to pull four of ours out of the creek, and were able to get one of three others we saw in there, and contact the owner. If you've got the time and the tools, combining a round of disc golf with a few moments of 'fishing' can be a fun way to spend an hour or so!
