Many Ways to Play This Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Feb 8, 2020 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

The variety in which one can play this course is excellent. There are long and short tees and long and short baskets so you have 4 courses in one. Tees are solid concrete and signage is easy to read.

The course has a good variety of long and short holes, open and wooded holes, holes requiring simple strategy and holes requiring you to think outside the box.

The grounds are kept up well and I have not seen the vegetation out of control.

It is unlikely you would lose a disc here unless you have a shot that is way off course.

Cons:

There is no area to warm up with drives. There is a putting practice basket but I like to warm up with drives before I play.

Other Thoughts:

The variety of this course has something for all levels of disc golf players.

great course with 2 baskets and 2 tees 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 21, 2016 Played the course:once

Pros:

What a very well maintained suburban park! Everything in the park looked new including the DGC!

Two sets of cement tees and 2 baskets on all 18 holes, red (short) and yellow (long) allows 4 different possible ways to play each hole. Outstanding tee signs at each tee (long and short).

A few long to long holes are par 4.

Starts out very open but has 15 wooded holes. Wood chipped areas around the tees and in places along the fairways or around the baskets.

Great use of elevation, I didn't expect it after entering the woods.

Indoor rest rooms.

Close to the highway, within 5 minutes of I-70.

Cons:

Where to start the course is not marked well. I saw both #1 baskets but it took a few minutes before locating the tee(s) to the right and uphill from both the restroom building and then pavilion.

Two of the tighter wooded holes seemed repetitive, #11 and #12?

Other Thoughts:

The practice basket is not near hole #1.

Print the map from here, it's excellent.

I usually rate courses slightly lower than their average but in this case it's one of the few I rated higher than it's average, it's that good! I will be back even though it's 3 hrs from me.

Great Course Design 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jan 15, 2016 Played the course:once

Pros:

With two sets of baskets and two sets of tees, Ditto Farms has a layout for everyone from total newbies up to top-tier professionals. There's a variety of open, short, tight, long, hyzer, anhyzer, uphill and downhill looks throughout the place. The grass in the open areas is well maintained, the concrete pads are nice and flush to the ground and have good grip, and the baskets are Innova Pro 28s that catch very well. One interesting feature to me, was that it seemed like the further I got into the course, the better the holes got. I like that in a course. This course is also only about two miles off of Interstate 70, so it's not too difficult to find. Nice view of distant mountain on hole 8, and a cool finishing hole that plays up,up,up to the long basket. There's also a practice basket by the parking lot.

Cons:

The cons I list are all pretty nitpicky; they didn't really bother me, but some people might get bothered by them.

No benches, some nasty thorns here and there, and in the dead of winter it is a bit muddy even several days after a rain. Wear shoes with good traction, because the slickness of the hillsides combined with steep trails in a couple places could result in a fall if you're not careful. There's also not a water hole on the course (again this is pretty nitpicky).

Other Thoughts:

I think the only thing that keeps me from rating this course a 5 is that there just isn't one hole out there that I would call "epic", although 14,15, and 18 are memorable. This is certainly a great place to hold a tournament.

A must play if you're a disc golfer 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 13, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

first of all what a great course. the course winds around and through old farm land in Washington County Maryland. the first two holes are wide open giving you a chance to open up and loosen up your arms. the remainder of the course plays in and out of woods with wide open spaces and fairways as well as technical shots abound.
we drove almost an hour and a half to play this course. We've played most of the courses around our area and find ourselves traveling further to play new courses. I would definitely come back to this course and would recommend it to any other disc golfer

Cons:

Not too many cons when it comes to this course. Maybe concrete pads for the amateur tees but other than that not too much about this course I did not like.

Other Thoughts:

we found two discs there and were able to track down one of the owners. Please remember to put your name and contact information on your discs

Nice Course! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Apr 18, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

A good mix of holes, tight to wide open, elevations changes, and 2 baskets per hole to pick your own adventure. It will test your game especially if you play long tees to long baskets. The long tees are the concrete pads and the short tees are marked by small flags and are natural tee boxes.

Cons:

It's a tight course, with holes 1, 2, 4, and 18 being wide open. The only real con I can think of is the short tee boxes could use some permament makers.

Other Thoughts:

I really like some of the pin placements, and the course will make you throw every shots you have. I'll definitely play Ditto Farms again.

Awesome course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 15, 2014 Played the course:once

Pros:

Tons of variety. Some open holes, some forested, some long, some short. Most holes are very fair and give you a chance to do some good shots without being too easy The scenery is nice and the park is decent. The woods are not too thick compared to most around the region. Current layout is nice and simple, long baskets and short baskets.

Cons:

I had some trouble finding the start because there is a practice basket near the parking lot that isn't really close to the hole 1 tee. The signs are out dated and the measurements are not accurate. They claim to have multiple tees but I never found any. A few spots can be a little dense and a risk for losing a disc. Finding the baskets will likely require a walk down the fairway when playing the first time.

Other Thoughts:

This is one of the best courses I have seen in Maryland. I recommend playing here. Once you play through and get familiar with the holes, this course is hard to criticize. I you're playing here for the first time, Hole 1 tee is at the top of the hill near the playground and the houses. and the Hole 4 basket is at the other end of the field. (yes its that long)

This Will Be Great 2+ years

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Apr 25, 2013 Played the course:once

Pros:

2 Brand new Innova Discatchers on all holes. Nice tee signs at every hole. Cement pads on all tees including a fan tee on #14 so you can choose between the two obvious lines. Nice variety of hole lengths. A few long open holes but mostly medium or short technical holes through the woods. Fairways have been cleared of large trees. Good variety of shapes - you can use all your throws here. The park is beautiful and has lots of parking and has restrooms. Back nine features one great hole after another - loved #10, #13, #14, #15 in particular. Hole #1 is wide open; second is mostly open which allows you to get some warmup. Number #4 is 766 feet of wide open for those who like to show off their big arm. It had rained a little the previous evening but the only wet spot was the grass leading up to the 18th tee. Four ways to play allow for tailoring to your group (or mood).

Cons:

Navigation was tricky on a couple of transitions (#s 9 and 10). Number #4 is 766 feet of wide open which won't be fun for smaller arms. No trash cans or next tee signs.

Other Thoughts:

I revisited again (May 2015). The course is really great now. The fairways and paths between holes are well beat in. People have put a lot of work into it and it is a proud addition to the I-81 corridor (it will remind you of Whispering Falls and Poor House Farm but prettier than either of those). When I got to #10, I thought "This will be my favorite hole" - long and straight but narrow and slightly downhill. Then I got to #13 and thought "No, this is it" - big downhill through the woods with scattered trees (plus I deuced it). Then I played #14 - uphill with the basket perched up on a ledge that forces you to land your disc nearby for a par - awesome. Then I played #15 - throw off that same ledge and curve it along the valley with scattered trees to a basket at the edge of the thicker woods. #18 Long finishes uphill with a 584-foot job that actually wasn't as hard as that sounds.
I went on a Saturday morning at 10 AM and was the only player on the course. I played long tees to short baskets and then went around again playing long to long. It was a great time and I will be coming back frequently; Hagerstown businesses can count on an uptick as I ate locally and did a little food shopping as well. Visited again (8/10/19) and still love the course. Undergrowth was minimal; grass was mowed - really like the choice of basket placements giving me a choice for what I was in the mood for on each hole. Ate locally again.

We are still in the very early stages with the course. Signage along with two concrete tees per hole will hopefully be installed by Fall 2013. A temporary signage solution is being worked on as we speak. We are expecting the second set of baskets, to give us a permanent short/long layout late 2013, early 2014. The county is doing their best to keep up with mowing/ivy eradication. Keep in mind they also are responsible for many multi-use facilities throughout the county as well as baseball, soccer and lacrosse fields. Trash cans, benches and next tee signs have been on our list since the start. Not sure we can help you with the insects though.
