Championship course? Nope! Intermediate level then? Nope! Dog Island is a nice little recreational level course. It's not trying to impress you. It's fun and challenging for those 14 year kids playing with one disc or the father teaching his son.

The course has concrete tee pads and Innova baskets. The signs are metal and give all the needed information.

Dog Island plays all throughout this park with two names, Ayer Park & Dog Island Park. It starts out by the front parking lot and plays all the way to the far back park where it ends, then you have to walk back against the disc golf traffic. Remember to duck coming around on # 8.

There were a lot of fun Little, short throws here. # 2, throwing from off the small hill to a basket 171' below was fun.

# 6 was a cool LITTLE hole! Just 131' but the basket sits in a small hole and is guarded by four trees.

# 7 was a par two, 148', with this basket guarded by 5-6 trees. I don't think any hole should ever be a par 2. Give the player an easy birdie.

The back nine playing in the far park are longer and more open. They're almost like playing a whole other course.

This also makes a great pit stop the drive up I-5.

Back 9 is open and more boring.
Fairly long walk back after 18.
You're walking right into blind throws (# 8) on walk back out.

I liked this course quite a bit. I actually enjoyed the short front 9 more. All those ACE runs are great fun. I really enjoy seeing middle school kids and families out playing and this is the kind of course that you'll see them on.

good tee pads. pretty straight forward layout. Front 9 has some technical throws, possible ace runs, flora to deal with which made it fun. Back 9 pretty much in the open for you to air it out to most holes. Good course for newbies.

CROWDED! played on a monday around 1pm and the course was packed. Holes are close together so it makes for heads on a swivel when it was this crowded. hole 18 ends in the middle of the course so you have to walk out through other players approaches. bathrooms at the course was closed down with chailn link around it so prepare for no facilities.

Was fun for being a new course. just had a few quirks and obviously popular with the locals. they were all very friendly and no issues when we were crossing paths. It is nestled in between some other good courses making for a good option when you tag it on with Anderson or Black Butte.

This course makes good on the space that is available. Being from Chico it is a nice finish to the day after playing Anderson. The course is right off of I-5. The only tourneys that should be played here are ace races and kids torneys. Overall a fun little course I think it as at least worth playing once.
