Good tees/baskets
Quiet, neighborhood setting.
Good parking.
Great for experienced players.

Show off your drive shots!
It's pretty flat course, but it was fun to play.

Dovillio 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 4, 2012 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

I really like this course, it isn't super technical but it is really well designed IMO. The first few holes and the last few are definitely crusher holes, but even the beginner player can enjoy the rest of the course. There are some really well thought out hole placements in the back nine.

Cons:

There is no elevation change whatsoever, and the tree obstacles are somewhat few and far between. But the trees that are there are used very thoughtfully.

Other Thoughts:

I would say that this course caters more to the intermediate/advanced players, but everyone can find something to enjoy in Dovillio.

Good Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 9, 2010 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Lots of parking. Basketball courts near by. Totaly flat. Great tee pads and most holes have signs to show where the baskets are and approch angles.

Cons:

Rough neighborhood. Totaly flat. No place to hide. Several holes are loooooong. Everything is par 3. Would like to see a couple of par 4s

Challenging, fun and a little bit different 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Nov 3, 2009 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Good course for intermediate to advanced level players at 6600'. Not overwhelming for novices and casuals, but with two of the first three holes over 600' each, they will find it challenging. Has some good variance on hole distances and flows pretty logically. Disccatchers are easy to see (just make sure you're looking at the right one). Some water threat on the first two holes (if it goes in, you're likely not getting it back), but nothing a decently accurate drive can't avoid. Not crowded with casuals unlike some other course in town. Plenty of hyzer potential for lefties with OB trouble often to your right. Great course for learning how to steer around trees. Along with the length, the trees are what make this course tick.

Cons:

Flat as a pancake, well except for the ditches alongside the roads. It could get ugly getting to the next tee after a hard rain here. Maintenance seems come and go here. Sometimes its well mowed, sometimes not. Compared to McClure nearby, amenities like bathrooms are non existent here. The relative openness of the course makes it hard to find a good tree to say hello to. Some footbridges to get over the ditch areas would be an improvement.

Other Thoughts:

Kind of a strange albeit appropriate location for a DG course, Dovillio sits in a narrow buffer area between Mingo Creek and a subdivision with unimproved streets (hence the reason for the ditches). With McClure nearby, you'd be good to hit them both if you're in the neighborhood.

Pros:

fairly flat, some good challenging shots thru trees. flat out fun

Cons:

there are deep ditches between holes and disc loosing potential on the second hole because of the steep hill with rocks and the creek. but if you play it safe youll be fine

Closest to home 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 28, 2008 Played the course:never

Pros:

This course has a good layout and is a longer par 3 course. Great pads and baskets.

Cons:

It's a little flat, and some of the fairways hold water after it rains.

Other Thoughts:

I really enjoy playing this course. It's more difficult in summer when the trees fill out. Excellent practice course!

Dovillio 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 27, 2008 Played the course:never

Pros:

Extremely long drives and no hazards besides trees. If you want to practice driving or show off how far you can throw then you should play this course. Good signs and pads. Overall it's pretty good.

Cons:

The lack of hazards means the course isn't as exciting as some others but it makes up for it in other ways. Every hole is a par three, even the 700 foot ones.

Other Thoughts:

Long course but the lack of hazards and variety doesn't really keep you on your toes. You might throw it into a few trees though. At least you can't lose a disc.
