Pros:
- All fairways are mulched with wood chips
- Little to no undergrowth to contend with.
- Very well maintained.
- Great variety in length, shape and direction of holes. Never feels repetitive.
Cons:
- The wood platform tees aren't great, but you aren't doing a full run-up on many (if any) holes.
Other Thoughts:
Living in Maine I've played a lot of tight, heavily wooded courses and this is the best example of how they should be done.
They do a great job clearing undergrowth so you don't have to waste time hunting for a disc if it skips off the fairway. No matter how many tree trunks are in your way, you'll be within a couple steps of seeing the well-marked baskets.
The wood-chip fairways are a great feature that I wish every wooded course had. They ensure decent footing no matter where you land and mitigate wetness on what would be a pretty muddy course otherwise. The wood chips also make judging distance a snap.
I also have to praise the layout again. There are some tight tunnels and guarded baskets, but there are also carefully designed lanes that you can shape a full drive through. It's not just "We put a course in the woods, it's hard lol!" Every hole presents a different challenge and forces you to use your whole bag. There's holes you can ace, and holes you'll fist pump when you 5 them.
