Pros:
- Well-manicured. Fairways cut pretty good still tall enough to be grabby, very tall rough sections beneficial to not be in for clean runups, also to not get ticks or chiggers.
- Good signage, flat concrete teepads, new solid baskets, trashcans on most holes, benches on some holes.
- Elevation changes, most are gradual up/down hill, a couple are somewhat steep.
- Not really any long walks between holes, just at the very start and very end to and from parking lot.
- Clean, peaceful, and quite. Some other people walking in the park.
Cons:
- Lacks variety. Too many open grip and rip holes. Par 4s all played the same, throw your furthest drive, then up shot or putt. Most par 3s were throw backhand/forehand straight and slightly hook up at the end. Or if you have them arm just go over/around everything. Just too many holes that are the same.
- 9 and 10 share fairways, thrown slightly downhill on 9, throw back up the slight hill on 10. Not a problem when I was there but could see it causing issues for tourneys/league.
- Trees are sparse. With so much open space most are easily avoided. I could see a couple holes getting slightly harder 10 or so years down the road.. Little to no shade because of this.
Other Thoughts:
If you can throw 400+ consistent and accurate you can tear this course up with long drives and hyzers over/around. Not very beginner friendly only because of the distance.
I think if you were to shorten or change 5 or so holes up this could be a great course. Just needs a change of pace thrown in there a couple times. I felt like most of 6-17 felt the same.
Favorites were 3, 12, and 18.
