Short, Technical, Beautiful Forested Course, Baskets Not Tonals Now 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:May 20, 2019 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

- As a high a rating as I can give for a short 9 hole course in a relatively busy public area, very beautiful little park nestled into North Van with new baskets.

- Course layout is very good in the sense that the trees add technical challenge while offering reasonable lines. It's not just a plinko-show where it's luck whether you get through or not.

- Cement pads with hole number in them. Not long pads, but given that you don't really need run-ups for this course they're absolutely fine.

- Not much in the way of surrounding area views, the course is in a wooded park area in a residential subdivision, but it's beautiful forest that's immaculately maintained and very well laid out for the amount of space available.

- Ample free street parking in the area.

Cons:

- No tee signage.

- Not much length to the course, nowhere to let big drives rip.

- Busy public area with dog walkers that walk through the heart of the course. Course designers didn't have much choice given the space available, but there's a lot of public interference that's unavoidable and requires waiting. (The times we've played everyone's been extremely friendly, however, no issues at all).

Other Thoughts:

- This used to be a tonal course with dirt pads, so don't get confused by older reviews. This course doesn't have individual tee signage, but it does have concrete pads and new baskets.

- Easy to navigate in spite of lack of signage, especially with uDisc, though figuring out distances is a bit annoying if you care about that.

- Overall as good as a small, wooded 9 hole course without much distance gets.

- Cart friendly course, but you probably don't need a cart as you probably only need a few discs to play this and can finish the course in 20-30 minutes if it's not busy.

Short wooded course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Nov 11, 2016 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Nice Mach 5 baskets (tones were removed) with some good short technical shots to help work on your upshot game.

Cons:

The grass/dirt tee pads are not my favourite.

Other Thoughts:

Great course for when it's raining due to being mostly sheltered. All you really need is a putter.

Trees Trees Trees 2+ years drive by

Pros:

Fairly intuitive course. A map at the first hole will set you up nicely for your round.

The course is quiet, so you don't usually have to wait. This includes people enjoying the park as well, dog walkers and such, there just isn't a lot of traffic here, its fantastic.

The local players are very friendly and helpful, a great spot to learn the game.

Even with all the trees and bush here, it's an easy enough course to keep track of your discs.

The "tonals" are in great shape, and make a very satisfying ringing sound. :)

There is an owl that lives in the forest where holes 6,7,8 are. He's awesome.

Cons:

The middle of the fairway for the long holes (3 and 4) is the wettest part of the course. There will be plenty of mud here after a good rain.

There is not a lot of length to the course. Those who like to throw the long bombs have limited chances here.

Other Thoughts:

This quiet course is a nice challenge for your accuracy. What it lacks in length is makes up for in obstacles. Accurate shots are a must through the trees, and even the open holes are lined with thick brush on either side.

With so many obstacles to shoot around, you have plenty of opportunity to try different style shots.
