just a fun lil course!

Reviewed: Played on:Feb 25, 2023 Played the course:once

Pros:

I was pleasantly surprised with just how fun this course is! For a pretty basic throw and putt course, It makes use of every available natural resource on the property, the only exception being the pond which you play near but does not come into play, and given the beginner-level of the course, I find very appropriate to only incorporate by views.

The equipment for this course is nop-totch! Great innova baskets, great signs, with a course map on hole 1. The tee's are dirt tees marked with either bricks, or painted posts on the ground, hard to tell, but you know when you're at a tee pad.

The holes are all pretty basic, the longest coming in around 200ft, but there are some big hyzer lines, a gentle anny, something to make it interesting. Even a couple gentle slopes and hills worked in. It's amazing how engaging each hole is in the small space and short distance.

The landscape is also well manicured, mowed regularly, and is a pleasant walk in addition to being a pleasant round.

This is probably the perfect course to take a beginner: short holes, little risk of OB over the fences, and it's a little more than pitch and putt in most cases

Cons:

As articulated by previous reviewers, this isn't a course you take a driver to. I don't think that's a con in every circumstance, but grading a course overall, it doesn't make it a "complete" course.

There's a walking trail that can kind of come into play, but especially the biggest con is the 9th basket can have pedestrians kind of hanging around on a crowded day. It is placed a good distance from the picnic tables and chairs and stuff, but with the way people spread on the lawn, and the way discs can get carried, you should just be extra careful.

Other Thoughts:

I'm sad someone reviewed this course before it was finished being constructed, because it really was a surprisingly pleasant round, on a well put together course, where you take maybe your favorite mid and a putter out for some quality time.

I'd even say this is somewhat of a destination course, if you pair it with a visit to the beer garden. If disc golf and beer are two things you're interested in, then this is definitely a place to visit!

Pros:

+on the grounds of a brewery with great beers and decent food
+excellent place to take a date to introduce them to the sport
+landscaped grounds with picturesque shady live oak trees on a few holes
+Innova Discatcher baskets in excellent condition
+indoor restrooms
+great place to work on approach game
+decent tee signs recently installed

Cons:

-pitch & putt short course, no drivers necessary
-limited hours; best to call ahead to make sure the place is open

Other Thoughts:

Faubourg Brewery is not a championship course but it's pretty fun. Definitely caters to the non-competitive disc golfer, and really hits the mark as far as a great place to drink beer and play disc golf. The beer selection is excellent and the food is good, though sometimes it takes a little while to cook.

A great place to take a date. The grounds are very clean and landscaped well--you could almost play in high heels. Sandal-friendly at the very least!
