Pros:

Very Easy to find.
Great location with many other activities onsite such as Canopy tour, rafting, climbing, paintball, hiking, and much more.
It is a great course for beginners and pros alike.
Good use of the topography.
Very friendly and helpful people onsite.
Very easy to find the next tee.
Great location to create an 18 hole course!
The New River Gorge is a beautiful area and worth checking out for sure!
The course is on the edge of a gorgeous old growth Eastern Hemlock forest and within a stones throw of the NRG itself.

Cons:

The tee pads leave ALOT to be desired.
The rubber mats are uneven, some are sliding down the hills. Some are placed over stumps and makes it easy to roll an ankle during run up drives.
Sometimes you will run into people with dogs OFF leash and they love to chase your discs. At the tee for #7 you will see the remains of Viking after a run in with a canine. lol.
The trails can get slippery after it's rains. A little much or a few steps would fix that problem.

Other Thoughts:

If this course would pave the tees, maybe add a few optional pin locations, add pro tees, do a little mulching, and maybe enforce a leash law it will be a great little 9 holer. I would love to see it transform into atleast an 18 hole course. Adventures On The Gorge has alot of beautiful property and could easily make it an 18 hole course or even build a separate 18 hole course on the gorge side of Ames Heights Rd and keep the current 9 hole course.

Great WV dg! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 23, 2010 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Great use of land and trees. Sharp curving shots needed, but fairways aren't too tight. Soon will be 18 holes!

Cons:

Some very short holes. The par 4 holes are 3's anywhere else.

Other Thoughts:

This is a very cool course in a dark, shaded WV hardwood forest. There's not much groundcover so finding discs is easy. Should be 18 after this coming winter.
