Pros:
-short and easy holes appropriate for introducing kids to the sport
-some low ceilings and tricky greens, especially hole 8's green
-cool downhill shot on hole 5
-private, designed for youth campers
Cons:
-the (homemade?) baskets are in quite sorry shape, they catch very poorly
-lots of potential safety hazards as the course plays through the camp and recreational areas
-closed to public when camp is in session, limited availability with permission otherwise
Other Thoughts:
This is a short and easy rec course with the youth player in mind. It is not intended for the general public or the serious golfer.
For what it is intended to be, the course serves its purpose very well. The shots are not too long and not too challenging but have enough obstacles to keep it interesting for a beginner.
Course baggers only, call for permission. Otherwise, head to Coyote Point at Lake Casitas if you're in the area and looking to play a round. It's the best course for hours in any direction.
