Pros:
+ Great signage; good tees and baskets
+ One of the best places in the State to introduce new players to the game: it's a short and open layout, but it has all the touches of a real course (maps, tee boxes, signs - it's a course that asks you to respect the game and understand there are rules, not just a park with baskets to throw at)
+ Although it's an open layout, the design uses every little bit of elevation it can find, and even creates some with a raised basket. This means you really have to think a bit about wind, fade and throwing height on at least half of the holes
Cons:
- As others have noted, some of the course winds around playing fields, so plan your trip when it's less likely the fields will be in use
Other Thoughts:
~ RHBH players: keep it level and watch out for fade on holes 1, 2, 4, 5, 6
~ At 337 feet the par 4 eighth hole is a likely candidate for a player's first eagle
~ I love courses by scouts, by community groups and by schools. Freehold HS is a notch above, because of the care and thought that went into the design
