An Interesting Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 13, 2019 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Even though it is a short course since it goes through woods it can be challenging which makes it a nice change from the standard open green park courses. You need to bring your accurate throws to this course because if you don't it will be scramble city. There is not a lot of undergrowth but enough of it. You will have plenty of opportunity to shape shots here, bring you over-stable and under-stable discs, each will come in handy.

Cons:

The course does not have a lot of undergrowth but what they do have is vines with thorns and the ground can be muddy in several places; did not see any snakes but it sure looked like it could harbor a few. The other problem is besides your basic 12" to 36" diameter trees there are lots of saplings which can make for tricky scrambling. I ran the course during a small dry spell but it was still a little wet (but playable) would hate to see it after a rain (but hey, this is Louisiana). The course is tricky to locate in the park (had to ask at the gym), in fact the course starts on the right-hand side of the gym and wraps around behind it and into the woods. The first 3 holes are marked with a small wood plaque with basket location and footage and after that you have to follow the spray paint on the trees but with no basket location or distance so study the footage on this web site first.

Other Thoughts:

Really though I found it fun to play and indeed challenging. My home course in Idaho is through an open green park with little obstructions (except for goose/duck poop, pedestrians, and usually more wind then is needed) so this was a humbling experience.
