Pros:
There are still 7 tee pads and 8 baskets available and supposedly a ninth (called #10) somewhere separate from the main course (I was on trip to see some "new" grandkids and did not have time to hunt for the one odd basket)
Great use of elevation and trees scattered through this part of the campus. Was very much a city park type of course. (Have I ever mentioned that I love city park courses!!)
Concrete tee pads with the hole # and distance and throwing line engraved in the back of the pad.
Was actually a very fun course to play despite only being the eight holes.
Cons:
Needs the ninth basket in the area where that new dorm is to complete the course.
Little bit of brush clean up and tree trimming needed around baskets 2 and 3.
Couple of crossing fairway throws (3-4) and (5-6)
Other Thoughts:
After a 6 month disc golf hiatus due to rigorous job demands, I quit the job and am back playing disc golf. Not to worry, I start a new job in a few weeks but hopefully with less demands!!
So, my 11 year old and I were going from St Louis (home) to Jersey to visit grandkids and needed to get in a (short) course on this trip. Conveniently located less than 1/2 a mile off I-695, it worked like a charm.
Had the on-line map and the note about tee 1 and basket 9, and spent a bit of time hunting to see if #1 tee was reinstalled somewhere (it was not) BUT the new sidewalk on top of hill is in the proximity of old tee 1 and worked just fine.
Course flowed well as we were the only two out there (if you don't count the dog walking lady that crossed the #5 and #6 fairways as we were setting to throw!)
Was probably a solid 3 course when first out there, but from looking at date of last review and year installed, it has not garnered much attention. Needs someone at the school to give it some love and bring it back to respectability!! As it is now, only the fun factor gets it as high as a 2 for me.
