Pros:

Since the course is part of a park that gets a lot of use, the grass is usually mowed.

Very short, open, no obstacles, no elevation on most holes...could be a plus for beginners or people looking to get in some windy-day practice.

Cons:

No map, no bulletin board to know you're in the right spot. No signs pointing to the next hole.

The layout is very boring...if I remember correctly there are only 2 holes with anything closely resembling obstacles (short trees on Hole 1, some OB woods on a later hole). I played this course once, the day we installed wooden tee markers, and could throw a RHBH hyzer on every single hole. The only difficult aspect of the course is the length on 2 holes...there's nothing in between the tee and the basket on these, but it's long enough that the majority if players couldn't reach it for a 2. No variety, no challenge, no shade = no fun.

Other Thoughts:

If you're in/near Texarkana and want to play some DG, just skip Grady T Wallace and head straight to Springlake Park...it's a MUCH better course and it's only 10 minutes away.

We (the locals) really hope to one day remove the baskets from Grady T Wallace and install them in another park not too far from there...in Dodridge, Arkansas (Alex Smith Park). Unfortunately, due to the details of the grant that provided funds for the baskets at Grady T Wallace, we won't be able to move them for a few more years if at all.
