This course is OK to AWESOME 2+ years drive by

Pros:

The park is an excellent location for a disc golf course. It has a large creek running the length of the course and comes into effect on almost every hole. Nice elevation changes. Also, the course is very rarely packed with anyone other than yourself enjoying a round of disc golf.

Cons:

Playing the course "as is" turns a beautiful swatch of land with great potential into a pretty mundane 2 hour stroll. If you're like me and play RHBH the course offers many challenges in the way of hyzers and that's about it. Most of the round can be played with a hyzer drive and then a put. There is good use of elevation changes midway through the back nine holes and the creek can end up adding a stroke to your score on almost every hole. Signage is either missing or too close to the tee. Needs some more concrete teepads to ease the risk of twisting your ankle.

Other Thoughts:

Here is where the course becomes amazing. Play it backwards. Start from #1s teepad and throw to 18s basket (as long as there is no one using the picnic benches). All of a sudden hole 1 goes from a 375' hyzer shot to a 500'+ fairway management hole. Then step to the side of the pin and play to 17s basket. If you play the route that some of us have found you end up using every shot you have and then some just to keep close to par. A few notable holes are throwing from the top of the hill near 12's pin down to 11's basket. The basket now appears nestled on a peninsula made by the two creeks merging. The signature hole would have to be the 1,000' (par 5) that winds from the middle of what would be 5's fairway to 3's basket. With houses on the left and the trees and creek on the right, it makes this double 'S'ing fairway a joy to play. The course is not busy enough to keep you from playing this layout and most of the regulars that do play there know what you are doing.
