Fun Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 26, 2011 Played the course:once

Pros:

A wide variety of shots
the tee pads are nice
The course layout is very cool
Some good distance shots
It has a very cool location with the river on one side

Cons:

When it rains a lot it definetly floods up.
Police roll through the course a lot.
It could use a course map.

Other Thoughts:

it wasnt really busy when i went but with a course that is as cool as this one im guessing it will get pretty busy come summertime.

Pros:

Good mix of right to left, left to right, straight shots
Pretty decent tee pads and baskets
Multiple Tee positions
Maintained very well

Cons:

No real long bombers except 18 which is pretty tight with the river off the right side
Can get crowded in the summer months

Other Thoughts:

I play Griggs quite a bit and I enjoy the mix of shots it has. Utilizes the woods in a few spots but not overly woodsy. Twice a week there are random doubles that make it a fun challenge. Better course than OSU to work on your game because there are more than just hyzer shots. Only bad thing would be the crowd that can get there but it's never been that big of an issue for me.

Griggs a.k.a. riverside 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 17, 2009 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Well-maintained course and closer to the city than most other parks in the area. I find the course challenging enough to keep me coming back, especially with the new pin placements. Good jog guys!

Cons:

This park always seems to be busy. If you're not very patient, try playing either before noon or after 7 pm (during summer months).

Other Thoughts:

I look forward to playing the Wednesday Doubles that are held every wednesday at 6 p.m.

Good course for quick play. 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 26, 2009 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

The course is well maintained. "B" pin placements have been added to help with the maintenance of the course. Most holes are between 200-400', so a good range for non-pros. Closed road up the middle of the course and river on the return side of the course are OB. Many holes going out are in the bushes (with an opening), making for blind holes from the tee. Because the course is an out and back course, you can cut from holes on the outward track to holes on the inward track to make a shorter course, if you are running short on time (or wanted to thow some holes on lunch break).

Cons:

Almost every hole turns to the right (the few that do not are straight). No dog-leg holes. In years with heavy rain, the river can flood and turn some holes into mud puddles. Hard to find the first time.

Other Thoughts:

Some left-turning holes would have improved it. Improved signage would help first-times find the course.

2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 22, 2008 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Concrete pads, posts that let you know what hole it is and the distance of the hole. A decent variety of shorter and longer holes. The course is pretty well maintained. The only course that I have played that has wood chips placed around the pin, kind of like a green if compared to a regular golf course. This is an interesting and welcome idea.

Cons:

The course is commonly packed. Holes 6 and 7 are just about identical, besides tree placement. Hole 9 is missing its post.

Other Thoughts:

This can be a fun course because it's easily walked and the people that play it are normally very friendly. So if you go by yourself you can normally join up with someone else. There are tournament every so often. Also there are people that come and sit in the parking lot to sell discs, they are normally reasonably priced.
