Quick playing 2+ years

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Nov 11, 2014 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Closeby for Easton and Phillipsburg area residents. Nice views of the city of Easton. Some serious elevation changes on the back. If you work in Easton or nearby, cant beat the convenience for a quick afternoon round. Holes 8, 15, 16, & 17 are challenging wooded holes that require some shot-making ability.

Cons:

Tee boxes are very poor in most cases, rutted grass-less patches containing ankle-busting roots and ruts. Recent tee-box work has been done on 3, 8,& 16, however its more treachorous now than ever. Tee boxes were framed with 2x lumber and filled with large rocks and gravel. The large stone and gravel is very loose, and I faceplanted on a forehand drive when the rocks and gravel gave way (still birdied so worth it). These boxes need to be filled with cement or choked and tamped to provide a firm surface. Perhaps thats the plan and I just played it during the reno. Holes #16 & #8 have been moved and are in the woods behind Tee #3, you have to play these holes out of order before hole #3. It would make more sense to just re-number all holes from 3 - 18. Trash and debris on the back 9 are a disgrace to the park.

Other Thoughts:

Hole # 17 is easily my favorite, long, huge elevation drop, and very secluded. But it will take your plastic in the summer when overgrown. I gotta play it anyway.

Missing a hole... 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 26, 2014 Played the course:once

Pros:

Pros include elevation changes, family park setting.

Cons:

Only one hole has a finished tee box. All others are bare dirt, roots, rocks, etc. Several holes have un-level surfaces with two or three having you tee off up a steep slope. I couldn't find the old or supposed "new" hole 16. Lots of back-tracking from basket to next tee.

Other Thoughts:

Despite all of the cons listed, it isn't a terribly bad course. Finished, level tee boxes would make a real big difference.

Great Starter Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 14, 2011 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Open Field shots allow one to get accustomed to throwing discs without the worry of hitting obstacles. Great course to work on Mid-Range discs! Great use of elevation change and some baskets are very well placed. Front 9 play an amazing loop. Holes 15,16,&17 will test your accuracy in the wooded area. This course has many of the essential shots one should learn when just starting Disc Golf. Has a bathroom and picnicking area.

Cons:

Need updated tee signs with hole number, par info, distance to pin, ext. Would like to see concrete tee pads as some of the pads are really worn to the point where one could roll an ankle. The walk between hole 9-10 is fairly rough as it brings you back up the hill towards the parking lot. In summer time holes 15-17 are heavily overgrown and it is extremely easy to loose a disc back there.

Other Thoughts:

Great course for beginners, it's local to me and i play it when i am short on time. Excellent view of Easton,Pa from the top of the parking lot. Wouldn't recommend driving distance to come play this course but if you happen to have some free time and your in the area maybe stop and play a quick round.

Pretty average 2+ years

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Nov 1, 2009 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Easy to understand, the front 9 takes less than 30min to complete with 2 people. If midrange/approach play is your game than this is your course.

Cons:

Only a handful of the holes are worth playing again some you just end up wondering why you decided to play it, the back holes are absolutely garbage and almost unplayable during the summer this course is great early spring to late fall since most of the grass is dead and its easy to find your disks

Other Thoughts:

This course was poorly designed and could of been placed out much much better with the space and resources available at the park. I live 2min from the course and would rather drive 20min to test out new disks than play this one. This area of land has some redirection potential, wish I knew who to contact in the township to propose a layout change there is some serious elevation change that can come into play with some modification to the wooded areas.

The 2.5 - 3 rating is accurate 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 20, 2009 Played the course:once

Pros:

Only minutes from home. Easy to navigate with good signage. A good variety of downhill, uphill and dogleg left & rights.

Cons:

Not to many challenges, even for a new player. The distances are short and many throws are simular. Holes 15-17 are played in very high brush - Use a spotter or you will surely loose a disc.

Other Thoughts:

With a little more maintenance and a chamge in the holes that are simular would make it 3.5 course
