Nice little course for the fall/spring 2+ years drive by

Pros:

Fun beginner course with some goofy high pars that make scoring fun for new players. Typically not very crowded and adjoins a community park

Cons:

I would (and do personally) avoid this course in the summer. It has some of the nastiest rough areas I've ever seen. Even the grass just off the fairway is about chest high and nearly impossible to find any errant shots in

Also intersects with pedestrian traffic quite often

Nice little course with caution. 2+ years

Pros:

Harcrest is a nice park kind of all by itself. About 15 minutes from downtown Butler. It is a fun little course that is perfect for a family to play. Played with my wife and two kids and had fun. Holes were mostly short open holes. Baskets were older style but in good shape.

Cons:

As nice of a little course as this is, it has some flaws. The rough is the worst part of the course and the only obstacle on almost every hole. It's waist high from about April-October. You HAVE to have all eyes watching where you disc goes if it's in the weeds and believe me it will be at times. The part of the fairways that are mowed are only 5-10ft wide throughout the course. Par distances are definitely favouring the beginner too. Some of the holes were a distance driver throw away and was a par 5. The tee pads were cement but only 3'x3' squares. Also the tee sign for each hole is directly beside the tee pad so you have to watch you don't hit you arm when your throwing. Baskets were Mach II's witch don't catch as good as some.

Other Thoughts:

Honestly my family and me enjoyed this course! It's a quick round but we spent more time looking for discs in the rough than we spent playing. I lost a disc on #3 and I saw exactly where it went in at. Looked for it to no avail. I honesty think if some of the holes we lengthened and reconfigured to make the course a little longer this could be an even better course. Something has to be done with the rough though. Playing and looking at the 4 foot high rough made me wonder how many lost discs are on the course longing to be reunited with their throwers. Will play again but might wait till late in the year or play it early next year before everything starts growing.
