Very easy to navigate the holes. Wide open shots and shorter distances makes practicing here very fun. I'm new to DG so being able to hop on this course and play nine in 30-40 minutes is a huge plus especially over the lunch hour.

No practice putter hole. Not that challenging compared to other courses I have played. Lot's of clowns that want to 'run' the course and will just jump in front of you, I guess it's not that bad it's just kind of rude when you are lining up a shot and someone says 'can I throw?' It's like 'yeah' you can throw but what is another 30 seconds. Just typically selfish BS.

Hole #2 is the only hole I have not birdied. I can't quite get enough annie to get around the trees on the left and the right. Most of the holes I can throw my Atlas, Roc3, or Putter and don't really need drivers. Hole #3 has moved, this was the only real distance throw and now they have moved it closer to the tee pad. I'd like to see this course get some different pin placements again.

This is your average park course. Make sure to look at the map before heading out as there are no hole maps or next tee markers. There is a great lake to walk around after your round and great views of the Flatirons. Most of the holes are straight forward and not very far or challenging. With the course being so close to a high school there are lots of non-golfers walking around the park and waiting can become a pain. Try to plan your round when kids are in class. Overall good course for short game practice.

Fun course for a lunch time round or if you want to play a quick game. Holes 4 through 7 were my favorite little more challenging than the other holes. some more work can hopefully be done Boulder needs to get their stuff in gear and create a great course for people.

Had a hard time trying to find where tee box 1 and 2 were, but after that it was pretty easy to find. There is a course map over by the recenter right off gillipsie road. not a lot of difficult shots to test someones skills, but fun for beginners to get started.

spoke to a maintenance guy working in the holes he said the Valmont course is going to get a big overhaul soon and back nine holes will go over the creek making longer holes, which will be fun.

Nice concrete tee pads with numbers and the general direction of the hole stamped on them. What little trees there are in the park are used wisely on #1,2, 5,6,7 and demand wise play and well placed shots. Plenty of ace runs, and it would be a good place to introduce someone to the sport. Rec center next door has course map and all of the facilities you would want for a full day at the park.

No distances marked on tees or map. No signage or benches. It isn't a real challenging course. If there is any traffic, there are going to be some issues with crossing paths and "fore" calls. I would imagine that there would be regular citizens playing on the grass in the middle of the course from time to time.

Good for a lunch round, well maintained park, but not very challenging.

This course has really nice, long, tee pads with the hole number on them. Almost all of the holes have at least one thing to challenge you. A great place to take beginners who don't mind hitting a tree or two as they learn.
Hole #1: A group of pine trees are between you and the basket with a small chute.
Hole #2: You have to shoot over a brush field and up a hill with the basket under a tree. Play the brush as OB and the challenge level rises a bit.
Hole #3: Wide open but fun to let one rip due to the drop in elevation to the basket.
Hole #4: Wide open but could be a chance for an ace.
Hole #5: A couple of trees in the way and a swamp at the bottom of the hill if you over throw.
Hole #6: A short hole but with a dogleg left for variety.
Hole #7: Short but challenging due to several layers of trees between you and the basket.
Hole #8 The swamp is to the right so some care must be exercised.
Hole #9: Wide open
The view from this course is about as good as it gets with the 3000 ft mountains towering above.

It's only 9 holes. It's on the short side as courses go. No signs at the tee boxes to give you an idea on distances. People in the neighborhood seem oblivious to disc golf as they cut across the often crowded course with their Black Labs. With only one disc golf course in a town full of exercise junkies and college students it can turn into a bit of a zoo sometimes.

This is the perfect course for a casual round where you can yak with your friends while you play. You have to concentrate some but not too much. There's at least one thing on most of the holes to challenge you, so it's not mind numbing boring like some park courses can be. You'll probably want to print a map out if it's your first time. It's a bit perplexing why Boulder with thousands of acres of wooded open space doesn't use a tiny bit of it for an 18 hole course, but this course at least lets you get a fix. If you drive up US 36 and play all the courses as you go this would be right at the end for a day full of disc golf.

Short course but still fun played it for the first time today at lunch . Nothing very hard but its always nice just to get out and play. The cement tee pads are great .

Some tee signs would be nice or at least a sign to the first tee pad seeing that's its kind of hidden. Some long throws would be great but they did good with the space they had .

I will definitly play it again but I wouldn't go out of my way to play it though. Great for a lunch round

The holes vary in length with a couple of long holes. The trees play into the course very nicely. The tee pads are long which is always good. The course had a few people on it noon on a tuesday. I must assume its a pretty popular course for the Boulder area.

The course is only 9 holes. They don't use the lake as a hazard at all.

This is a fun course. I played it twice, but it'd be nice if they would add to it. The forest fire made the mountains look pretty sweet today.

This is a satisfying nine hole course with just enough length, diversity, and amenities to keep you coming back. Length - while not yet posted I estimate holes to range from about 220' to about 450', giving a total distance of around 2600', which is just about right for the novice and intermediate level players. The concrete tees are gigantic measuring around 6' wide by 15' long; however they are laid in the contour of the land rather than level, which is very noticeable and slightly treacherous on #1 and #3. Each tee also has a large stamped number on the back of each tee indicating the hole.

The park is very well maintained and heavily used by playing kids, bikers, walkers, and runners. Plus, what the main area of the course lacks in foliage, it makes up for in elevation. #2 is a great hole and perfect example of having to play the slope and length if you want a decent chance at bird. The pins are Mach III's that are easy to spot in the open areas.

This is one of those few courses where the scenery is worth a mention as much as the course. Boulder is a beautiful place set in the foothills of the Rockies, and this Houston transplant paused on multiple occasions to just to marvel at the towering peaks.

BEST HOLE/S: #2

Ever play a course that satisfied you, but just lacked that pizzazz to make you think this is a great course? Harlow Platts fits the mold. The course is far too open for many people, the length is too short for big arms and many experienced players, and the little things like unmarked pins and no tee signs prevent this course from ever being rated high.

Holes #6 and #7 are throwaway holes although, #7 at least has a fair number of trees you must shape your mid-range around. Bottom line is that if you're decent you are going to shoot low numbers, which could be a pro or a con.

WORST HOLE/S: #6

I'm a little shocked that a major college town that seems to cater heavily to the hippie, yuppie, medicinal marijuana smoking, liberal, green-minded, and progressive attitude only has one disc golf course. Boulder has that real Austin City Limits feel, so why are you traveling to Denver or Longmont of all places play some real disc golf. Boulder is screaming with the possibility to become a disc golf mecca, and it has to perfect clientele to do it. But alas, there is only one course, but luckily it's good enough to satisfy the need.

Hole #2 is fairly technical with a long throw up hill. #8 is a long tee shot with trees/bushes lining the right side of the fairway. These are pretty much the only holes you can really let one fly. Otherwise a great beginner course with wide open shots and had multiple pin placements. If you are an advanced player you have the opportunity to birdie every hole!

Short, not very challenging....lots of traffic being that it is the only DGC in Boulder (which is weird). Otherwise a fun little course to work on some shots.

Only course that I have any aces on....I have aced hole #7 2 times, each one on different pin locations and 2 different throws.

usually crowded, folks walking their dogs or kids from the high school cut in front thru your line of sight often, little to no trees for challenge

hole 3 sits on this hill with the best view of the mountains, and watching your disc cut thru the air into that background is awesome. just not challenging enough for me

Nicely laid out course. basket to tee was easy to find. Good course for those thow are out for a quick play. Seemingly well kept.

Next to a middle school and a park setting. I played the course at a bad time-school was just released. Plenty of middle schoolers as targets (joke). Park was well used so a player must be alert.
