Pros:
Short recreational/beginner course located in a nice multi-use park in Jackson, WI. Tennis courts, volleyball courts, baseball fields, skate park, etc. A little bit of everything for everybody here. A great spot for a family gathering (and for you to sneak some throws in!)
Concrete tees on each hole. Plenty grippy. One tee per hole. They aren't overly long, but you don't need any real run ups here. The main gripe is that the tee signs (big rocks) are mostly right at the back of the tee pad, which limits what you can do.
Nice blue powder coated baskets (Arachnids, maybe?), which really stand out and make navigation a breeze. One pin position per hole.
Really cool large boulders are used for the signage here. Hole #, distance, par all etched into the rock. You can be sure of one thing...these signs will never be stolen. They also serve as nice landmarks for navigation.
Ace runs galore. As in, every hole. This also makes this a very beginner friendly place to throw. New throwers of all ages should have a pretty good time here. Also a great spot to practice all those shiny new shots you've learned if you're a more advanced player.
A decent use of the few spots of trees, especially on the few holes across the road (in an unused section of the park...very well done). Nothing too technical, but you at least have to think about it.
Cons:
So for a beginner, this being so short is pretty awesome. For higher levels, the novelty would wear off pretty quick. At some point, there's only so much you can do with a bunch of 200' open holes.
As stated above, having the tee sign boulders directly at the back of most of the tee pads is definitely an oversight. Just place them off to the side, please.
There are several holes that could become safety hazards if the park is in heavy use, especially around the pavilion and baseball diamond.
Hole 2 probably should have been hole 1 for better flow around the park. Not really a con, but more of an observation.
Nothing even close to resembling a bomber hole. If you're playing this with more than a mid, FH disc, and putter, you're doing it wrong.
Other Thoughts:
This course it the absolute definition of short park nine holer. None of the holes offer a lot of mystery or challenge. Basically, it's a decent spot for beginners, or others to work on their approach game.
Not a must play by any stretch, but it's clean and usable and located in a nice park, which is more than can be said for many other places.
