Great course. One of Utah's finest. 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Nov 23, 2017 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Great course with lots of varied shots.

Hole 1-3 just nice open shots but Hole 2 great for straight or if you good side arm to much right and you in the river. Hole 3 also straight the basket is just left. Maybe a side arm. Hole 4 maybe understable disc I used a valkyrie had a nice shot. Hole 5 nice little Hyzer shot. Ok Hole 6 I think is the hardest hole tunnel shot through the trees and basket is on the right.

Hole 7-9, 15-17 are open shots great distance.

Ok hole 10-13 great tunnel, tree, and river holes. More difficult than your average holes. Hole 14 you have a mando its a culvert that you have to throw through.

Hole 18 is the only shot that you have to shot over the river and through the trees.

Cons:

In the summer you can get a lot of traffic it is also a park for everyone. Play ground in the middle of Hole 1 thur 3. watch for kids. Maybe one more long shot like hole 8 would be nice.

Other Thoughts:

Great Signage and the disc golf players are very nice.

Be sure to bring a map it is very helpful. The map has the distance and hole info on it as well. Like I said the signage is in really good shape.

If you are an intermediate player you need to play this course. Great course in the fall. The colors are awesome in the fall. Right now the park is closed but the golf course is open. So all you really get is Disc golfer there.

Highly recommend playing this course.

My rating is 3.5 to 4. So lets call it 3.75

<Insert Jolley Pun Here> 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Nov 21, 2015 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Well designed 18 hole course, enjoyable for beginners and pros alike.
Good variety of hole distances, leaning a little on the shorter side.
4 or 5 wide open holes that let you bomb it over some grass.
4 or 5 holes that favor a RHFH throw.
3 or 4 wooded tunnel shots.
2 or 3 holes with a creek in play.
It might not compare to some of the premier courses around the country, but for Utah Valley this has become a go-to course.

Cons:

6/28/16- Update: concrete tee pads have been installed for almost every hole now making it much easier/safer to drive. A few more alternate tees would be nice.
Requires a little backtracking to get from Hole 3 to Hole 4, then again from 6 to 7. Easy to navigate otherwise.
4 and 7 don't get mowed as much so the weeds can be a nuisance if it's been awhile.

Other Thoughts:

About 20 minute drive once you get off the freeway, just past the ball golf course.

Part park, part woods 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 12, 2013 Played the course:once

Pros:

1) Nice diversity of holes
2) Some highly technical holes, some very forgiving, easy holes.
3) Nice baskets

Cons:

1) Some holes were not in an intuitive order - we played at least one hole out of order.
2) Signage is limited.
3) Some holes would be extremely difficult to play alone...blind tee shots.

Other Thoughts:

I would hesitate to play this course alone. There are too many blind tee shots and too much brush and undergrowth on at least 4-5 holes, and the risk of losing discs, even for experienced players, is real.

The course is partially in a nicely manicured public park, and partially carved out of river bottom trees and brush. It's kind of schizophrenic that way. It lacks a cohesive flavor. Some people like that, some people don't.

Way Fun! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 9, 2013 Played the course:once

Pros:

Very fun medium to short course. Beautiful setting, light traffic. Some very technical shots. Not physically taxing.
Definitely worth a trip!

Cons:

Needs signage and tee pads!
Took a few minutes to figure out the course layout. Not complex, but without tee pads some hole directions are a bit confusing since the baskets are hidden (5/6), (13/14). But not too tough to figure out.
Some holes are close to playground and foot traffic, nothing too disruptive.. just need to pay attention.

Other Thoughts:

Take Exit is 260 not 263 as noted on directions! Get off exit, go east about 2-3 miles until you get to 1300 East (Canyon rd) , take a right go for a few miles past golf course, (stay right) you'll run into the park. Course starts at upper parking lot.
Print course map before you come!
Other than the signage and tee pads, this is a fun course that meanders around the park. If you're going to play Art Dye in American Fork, this is worth the extra 20 min drive for a fun, non crowded course.

Lots in 1 Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Sep 24, 2012 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Lots of variety. Long holes, short holes. Open shots, tunnel shots . . . it had it all. Lots of different vegetation where one minute, you'd be on mowed grass and then another hole would be in the forest. That was fun. Lots of birdie opportunites but it takes skill to earn those chances.

Cons:

Some minor issues like the lack of tee pads or clearly marked tee areas. They did have black stakes in the ground but it still would be unclear where the teepad boundaries are. Some course flow issues might be present with the Front 9. Also, for all the creativity that was used with trees and obstacles, the course had little in the way of elevation changes. Also, Watch out for oblivious groups taking family pictures!

Other Thoughts:

What a great setting. With multiple pavilions, picnic benches, bathrooms and a nice playground, I could see this as a fantastic venue for a family get-together. I also wonder if they could make it a 27 hole course. Now that would be awesome!
