Definitely not the King DG course of the area, or even Bristol 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 17, 2021 Played the course:once

Pros:

Concrete tee pads, with number embedded and DISCatchers.
There are 5 good holes to play, out of the 8 that I saw.

Cons:

Oh were do I start? How about with #1, in a wooded section separated from the other holes and starts well away from the other 8.
#7 ranks as one of the Top 10 Worst Holes I've ever seen. The tee shot has to go into/over thick woods bordering a small creek, unless you want to throw down the narrow walking path, basket NOWHERE in sight. To get to the basket, you have to cross the creek (about 6 feet across) on several slick, uneven rocks, and that was on the safer, second crossing I found! Yea, pretty much impossible to play.
#3 has a huge tree down blocking the basket, and thick woods on both sides, #8 follows a ""fairway"" of a gravel walking path, with thick woods on both sides.
#9 finishes about as far from #1, or #2 as it could be.
There's plenty of wide open space on the campus, near the athletic fields, and a huge hillside that could provide an awesome Top of the World hole, but none of this area is used.

Other Thoughts:

From reading early reviews, it seems this course has changed a little since it was put in, so that ruins my theory that it hasn't been touched over that time!
There are a few good holes here, #2, #5 and #6 are good partially wooded holes. Nice grass and large old growth trees for shot shaping.
#4 is a not bad wooded hole, downhill and short enough to see the basket. #9 also follows the gravel path, thicker, but short enough to play.
Other than those holes, you either don't like your discs, or want to throw tournaments freebies if you play those holes.
Its pretty obvious that King allowed only this space to be used for the course, its a shame the more open spaces aren't used. Its not far from the large hillside, but with so many other good courses in the area, including 3.3 rated Steele Creek also in Bristol, its no wonder no one wants to put much time or energy into this course.
