PRISTINE, GOOD PRACTICE/STARTER COURSE 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 19, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

SUPER WELL MAINTAINED, PRISTINE EVEN. GREAT COURSE FOR BEGINNERS, KIDS, THOSE THAT CAN'T DRIVE VERY FAR. RESTROOMS, PLAYGROUND, NEAT, WELL CARED FOR. SAFE PART OF A SMALL COMMUNITY. KUDOS TO THE KIWANIS CLUB. I'M NOT A KIWANIS BUT MY NEIGHBOR IS AND THEY DO GREAT THINGS FOR THE COMMUNITIES THEY ARE IN.

Cons:

IF YOU ARE A SEASONED PLAYER, IT MIGHT BE A LITTLE BORING, BUT I'M NOT JADED AND APPRECIATE WHAT THE KIWANIS DID FOR US PLAYERS.

Other Thoughts:

FINDING HOLE ONE TOOK A MINUTE OR TWO BUT ONCE THAT WAS DONE THE NEARLY PERFECT SIGNAGE LEADS YOU AROUND WITH EASE. THERE ARE SOME LONGER SHOTS FOR THE BIGGER ARMED PLAYERS AND IT'S EASY WALKING FOR THE LESS FIT CROWD. I THREW 4 DEUCES AND ALL PARS BUT ONE. GO EAT AT THE ALTONA SUPPER CLUB. GREAT LOCAL FOOD AND PRICES WITH A NICE BAR ATTACHED AS WELL. THIS IS A NICE SMALL TOWN, THE PEOPLE ARE GREAT HERE.

It's a disc golf course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 24, 2015 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

This is the lowest score I've ever given a course that I thought was not a bad course. The problem is it wasn't anything special either.
Short holes make it well suited to beginners with only holes 8 and 9 going over 300ft. Once you find the first hole it is very easy to navigate. Although it lists water in play it truly never becomes an obstacle. Even if you somehow go in its only a few inches deep and around 1 to 2 feet across making retrieval simple.
The baskets and tees are in great shape and the tee signs are done well. The park itself is well maintained and has bathrooms and play areas for little ones.

Cons:

Nothing overly challenging here, it is strictly a beginner's course. Which is both an up and a down.
The tees though nice and grippy and in great shape are short. Too short for my liking, I guess with the short holes they figured you didn't need a run up.
Finding hole 1 the first time takes a bit, and the course does not loop back on itself from 9 to 1 so starting in the middle doesn't work.

Other Thoughts:

In all a well maintained course. Nothing worth a long trip for, but a nice play none the less.
There we one hole, hole 7, that is the signature of this course. A reachable tee shot off the side of a hill. Miss and you miss by a lot, but it's the best this course has to offer in challenge.
