long course 2+ years

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Jul 1, 2008 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Good facilities in the park, restrooms are in several different places around the course. The state park where the course is located is very scenic with many views of the lake. The course has some variety with open and wooded shots with water in play on a few holes.

Cons:

The course is a little hard to find even with a map. Ther are some very small arrows pointing in the right direction but are not labeled as DG related and I did not even notice them until midway through the 2nd round. Also the score card bore no relationship to the course as configured today. The score card might say 250 ft and the basket might be 450. It was often hard to tell where the basket was and the map had only a general outline with no signage at each tee. Every single hole was in the back position making it a very long course. I would have liked to have seen a mix of long and short or some alternate tees for beginners and/or shorter throwing players.

Other Thoughts:

There were 3 or 4 holes that did have alternate tees but more are needed. Signs for each hole showing where the baskets are would be great and scorecards with both distances are also needed. Not beginner friendly as set up today. Many of the holes are quite long with narrow heavily treed fairways. I would like to play it again with the pins in the short position for comparison.
