First after driving for miles and miles out of my way, I had to pay a $13 entry fee just to get into this private little campground/resort. I pleaded my case to the girl at the gate that I was only going to play the disc golf course and would only be here for 30 minutes or so. The girl was sympathetic to my plight but firm in her resolve to extract $13 from my wallet.

The course plays through and around a small day use picnic area. You don't have to worry about other resort users here, there aren't any, they weren't going to pay the $13 users fee.

After spending a considerable amount of time hunting for the # 1 tee pad or sign, I just gave up and made up my own safari hole.

The baskets are homemade ones, very rickety, with extra deep catching area and they were double chains. There were no tee pads or any evidence of anyone ever teeing off here. There are some very simple little tee signs -4" x 4" posts with a number on them.

I found the # 2 and 3 signs and baskets.I believe the # 4 basket is located out in the brush somewhere. I think I played # 5. And then I eventually found # 8 and 9 signs and baskets. # 6 and # 7 might also be out in the wild brushy area? I don't know? After finishing (If you can call it that) I actually stumbled upon the thought to be missing # 1 sign that I had searched for earlier.

The holes are pretty short, maybe pitch and putt length. This is pretty typical of some of these little campground type courses that get little play and eventually get forgotten.

I did encounter one sleepy maintenance worker. He was soon joined by another. They were curiously amused by what I was doing and did offer up the obvious. "We don't see many people here playing this game!" Oh Really?

Where do I start? How about with the $13 entry fee! Just to play a course worth about 13 cents.
Impossible to find baskets.
No tee pads.
Rattlesnake warning sign. Perhaps another reason not to search the underbrush for the missing baskets.
Simple little campground/boy scout/church camp design.
Baskets are homemade, temporary ones and pretty rickety.
Lake Piru is miles off the beaten path.

If you have played every course in California but Lake Piru, 254/255 of them as of July 6, 2014, the date I'm writing this review, then drive up here and knock this course off your list. If not, I'm advising you;

as your friend,
as a trusted reviewer,
as a fellow DGCR member,
as an American,
and finally as a guy just trying to save you the time and effort and your $13,

AVOID this course. Skip it! Don't waste your time and gas $. Save yourself the aggravation!
