If you're bored with Northside 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Nov 17, 2010 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

This course has lots of tight holes and a few wide open holes. The perfect woman. Not too challanging, and a cheap afternoon. Free equipment rentals if you have a valid Gator1.

Cons:

Management is not great on upkeep. Not enough people frequent this course to establish a group maintenance schedule. Private university property, so no beers, no dogs, no hippies. All three are necessary for a fun round. Bleeped bleeped ticks! Seed ticks so small you don't see them until they're atop a mound of what used to be a part of your body.

Other Thoughts:

This course would probably score higher if Northside (30 min north) and Greenway and Pine Oakes (20 min south) weren't drawing away the crowds.

Solid Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Feb 25, 2010 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

- Great practice for your short/approach game.
- Course is secluded enough, you don't run into too many non dgers on the course.
- Tests your accuracy with small fairways and tight turns at times.
- Holes 1, 9, 10, & 18 are all close to the parking lot.
- With UF ID, you can "rent" out basic discs at the shack near hole #1 for free.

Cons:

- TICKS. enough said, but seriously, when they are at their worst, one buddy came home with 10+ on him.
- You need someone with an UF ID to get onto the property (one ID per carload apparently).
- First time out, course layout can be confusing.
- Teepads are varied in length, but mostly too short in my opinion.

Other Thoughts:

- Hole 1 - you have to throw over the shack, where there are usually people, which makes it a worrisome first drive of the day.
- Hole 2 - the beginning of the confusion on where the basket is in relation to the teepad, but a short hooking shot to the left sets you up.
- I've gotten on the property before without an ID, just luck though with no one at the gate.
- Make sure you check the current times the course is open, sometimes they close it down for private practices for UF rowing teams and such.

- While the course is short for the most part, I don't think it's necessarily beginner friendly with the technical aspects of some of the holes. While you could bring someone new out for the shortness of it, they might be turned off by being in the woods often. While they might shoot a higher score at Northside Park a few miles away, I would start them there personally.
