Pros:
Very scenic!
Incredibly easy freeway access.
Nice mix of terrain, grass, trees, elevation, etc.
Restrooms available from early spring to the end of October.
Large shelter for tournaments.
Course can easily be modified for additional holes.
Good signage and new baskets make this an easy course for newbies to start on.
Scorecards with maps on them available at the first tee.
Incredibly friendly atmosphere
* Brand new cement tee pads!
Cons:
Non-Disc Golf traffic can be troublesome at peak times during the summer months. Avoid weekends and some busy evenings.
Creek can be dangerous when water level is high, please use caution. (And icey in the winter!)
Some blackberry bushes, and stinging nettles on holes 2, 3 & 4. (Most of the bad vegetation has been knocked down by golfers!)
Freeway noise on the west side of the course. (I guess that is the price you have to pay to be conveniently located near a freeway)
Some players and guest of the park think it is okay to leave their beer cans and cigarette butts anywhere they please. Conscientious players work hard to clean it up, but are outnumbered.
Other Thoughts:
Okay, I'm a little biased since I designed the course. But it really is a fun course. Come on out and try it. Vancouver's first disc golf course in a public park is a great start for the city. PM me if you would like a personal tour of the course! I try to get here a couple times a week and play, and would love the excuse to play another round with someone new!
