Blaine's Lincoln Park Disc Golf Course is one of Washington's newest courses, June 2018. From the street, Lincoln Park looks more or less like any one of a thousand city parks, that is lawn with scattered mature trees. But this small piece of lawn is actually the only semi-open area in the park. The rest of the park (and course) is heavily forested with thick underbrush. A few walking trails through the park are about the most open areas you'll find here.

The staging area around # 1 has a kiosk with a nice course map. Take a picture because the on-line map is about impossible to read. There are two practice baskets here. The tee pads are very large packed with crushed gravel. The signs are a solid metal giving you the distance for both the A and B basket positions. I don't know what brand the black/orange baskets are but that orange top ring really pops in the forest which really helps spotting them. Most of the baskets have a next arrow hanging below.

# 1 is 317' playing through this mostly open area. Enjoy it as this will be your last breath of anything remotely open you'll find on your round today. # 2 is 255' straight through the trees and brush. # 3 is about the same at 295'. The rest of front 9 consists of similar holes in the 200-300' range.

I don't like the start of the back 9. # 10 is 375' and the brush is not as beat down as on the front 9. Then # 11 is this funky 255' fish hook hole with a Mando you have to throw around. The problem here is the brush is very thick, especially around the Mando area and playing back could be very difficult. After 13, there is a long walkout to # 14. Leaving 13, there are three or four trails leading off in each direction. I don't think I traversed far enough downhill because I never found any trace of 14. So moving on to # 15, it plays 210' up a rough hill.

The back 9 is still very thick with brush and everything. The trails are a little rougher.

The brand new signs on # 12 and # 18 have both already been pounded on and are dented up.

There are a few baskets missing the next tee arrows. Navigation on the back 9 is more difficult.

The underbrush is thick so using bright discs (orange ) will help.

I was mostly underwhelmed by the back 9.

The front 9 is already showing signs of getting beat down. The back 9 isn't beat down at all. I enjoyed everything about the front 9 more. This course is in need of a course angel, a retired gentlemen who just likes spending time in the park and being helpful. I'd give the first 9 a 2.5 and the back 9 a 2.0. I think with time, the back 9 will get that beaten down feel which will help things considerable.

I will be charitable and award the course a rating of 2.5.
