Great Surprise 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 8, 2017 Played the course:once

Pros:

This course is mostly wooded with a few open holes. The fun factor of this course is very high. It is a mix of very doable birdies with a bunch of tough par 3s. Every hole on the course is a par 3 but I would rate the SSA at 56.

Cons:

Due to the swampy nature of the entire area you will encounter gnats and mosquitoes.

Other Thoughts:

One tee pad could use a bunker to the right of it to protect from error shots from a later hole.

Yesterday is History, Today this course ROCKS !!! 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 25, 2014 Played the course:once

Pros:

This course is in the process of a major redesign------------- -

Innova Mach 5 (Orange, basket well color/with Orange band ring on top of the basket), makes it so much easier to locate.

White wooden arrows point the disc golfer to the next tee.

To have big cement tee pads on this course is remarkable.

Strong club presence (otherwise all this work wouldn't be getting done, and I'm not just talking about the course. noticeable work that I saw was rock landscaping, and general landscaping).

several fast greens.

plenty of parking

Cons:

Very Rocky Terrain!!

Drainage on the first 3 holes could present a problem, but It didn't for me.

New design isn't completed, (but I found every tee, fairway, basket with minimal problems considering not all the tee signs had been installed)

Lots of deer to play around

Other Thoughts:

I'm glad I decided to stop and play this course today despite the rating. Because today this course won't be a 2 star course ever again. Someone or from the looks of it, many people have a vision that's going to transform this course to one of the BEST courses (IMHO) in this area (I-80 corridor).

Once you start playing holes # 4 -18 (IMHO) your in for a treat.
