Bland Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 2, 2011 Played the course:once

Pros:

This is a course located in the Lions park right next to a giant man-made pool. The park is kept well. There are multiple tees for a lot of the holes.

There is a little risk/reward on the water hazard holes, adding some fun. There is one hole that starts on top of a man-made hill (with a picnic table to relax if you're tired after the climb), which is a nice short shot. The hole is guarded by two large evergreens (had to get my girlfriend's disk out of one).

There are bathrooms and a drinking fountain near the beginning of the course, and a nice parking lot with shade trees.

Cons:

Multiple holes go over paths, and one goes over a road, so watch out for pedestrians and vehicles.

Almost all holes are wide open, making for a pretty bland round of disc golf.

There are very few benches and trash cans.

Other Thoughts:

Perhaps a good course for beginners because it's so open, but I will not go out of my way to play this course again.

Nothing special 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 16, 2010 Played the course:once

Pros:

Nice teeboxes and baskets. 18 hole layout. Nice mix of short and long. One small water hazard that comes into play on 2 holes.

Cons:

No difficulty really. No tight holes, most of the trees are very young, course is wide open so wind is an issue.

Other Thoughts:

really just nothing special as far as courses go. I've played worse, but I've played much better. Multi-use park and a few of the early holes go across a path that was being heavily used when we played. I would not make any special effort to play again.

Wide Open 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 19, 2008 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Dual concrete tees on most holes.

Good signs at short tees, some good signs at long tees.

Very little trash on course, has a few trash can scattered throughout the course.

Nice mix of distance. Some long holes where you can just reach back and throw, as well as some shorter holes to test your placement.

Cons:

Tee signs at long tees need some work. Some of the information on them has been removed or worn away.

This course is mostly open. There are some trees in the park, but most of them you are smaller trees that you can throw around. There are very few holes where you have to place a good tee shot, there is an opportunity for a good recovery shot on most holes (which could be a pro as well).

Very little elevation change. Hole 13 is the only hole with a significant change.

Other Thoughts:

There is a pond that comes into play on a few holes.

Playground, picnic shelter, restrooms, tennis courts, and pool on park grounds.

The park has been kept up very well by the city, and is very clean.
