Pros:

This DGC has an outstandingly splendiferous park setting lending itself to excellent, exciting, elevation variations with pulchritudinous, portrait-worthy vistas from several tees. The lengthy, terrific, trapezoidal, tee pads were top-tier complete with red-dyed concrete foot-fault no-no zones. Park was very well-maintained. At least three 'signature' style holes on this course with very challenging pars. Good sprinkling of easy ace-run/birdie ops to balance the more challenging holes. Signage and navigation were clear and easily followed. Other amenities were more than adequate with a conveniently located pavilion with water spigot.

Cons:

There are some really tough shots on this course with very punishing Out-of-Bounds - beginner to intermediate players would probably not care for the difficulty/frustration level of this course. Even though the course was in excellent shape, some of the holes had some pretty dense underbush if you got off your line too much.

Other Thoughts:

Top-notch disc spot and well worth the travel time if you're coming from out of town.

Pros:

Very scenic, hilly and beautiful course with giant scored Tpads and great signs w next tee arrows. great mix of long holes and short, 10 and 15 play over the edge of a lake and 17 and 18 play over a creek. No poke-N-hope holes. Innova discatcher baskets w yellow tops easy to spot. Big arms will be challenged on 2, 7, 9, 10 , 14, 15, and 18. Reminds me of Sioux Passage in N St Louis. Birdie op holes placed after the tough holes to give you a break. Dual pin placements mix it up for regulars.

Cons:

few trash cans or benches Walk from 16 to17 is a trudge, download the map b4 you go.

Other Thoughts:

I played this course soon after it was installed ; signs werent in yet and so I got frustrated and played half the holes. But now this is a stellar course with great holes like 2, 15, and 17, 18 that rival a ball golf course. Way more challenging than nearby Cape Park. Newbies will find this a brutal course. But a great course that rivals the best in Missouri, Ive played ALL the Mo. courses , and this is in the top 7 or 8. Harmony Bend, Branson Cedars, Waterworks and Rothwell East are in this category if you've played those. I gave it a 4.5 to bump the rating close to what is needs to be, a 4.
