Goosemiller 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Nov 21, 2016 Played the course:once

Pros:

- baskets in decent condition

- concrete tees, other than where the sidewalk is used in which case the tee line is spray painted - seems to be a recurring tactic of the Long's Peak DG Club, can't say I disapprove.

- Signs are adequate, w/ decent diagrams, course map here is a fair representation

- decent flow, course ends pretty close to the start.

- Park seems to be well maintained; makeshift trash cans on some holes

- geese!

Cons:

- no next tee signs - though that's not a real issue, navigation is pretty easy.

- restroom is closed after October

- I can see how pedestrians/non-golf activities could be an issue

- some of the holes can get a little on the repetitive side

- geese!

Other Thoughts:

Loomiller is a nice quick 9 holes in Longmont just down the road from Clark Centennial. It's no thriller, but I've always said A course is better than NO course (usually). You've got some short holes and some not-so-short holes. Water is in play on a couple of them adding some variety to an otherwise basic format. Now for the elephant in the room. As stated in other reviews, and I'm not sure if this is a seasonal occurrence or year-round, but MAN oh MAN the GEESE. Not only are you walking all over - and picking discs up from - goose crap, but, depending on where they are, you're either skipping holes or chucking plastic right at them. As such if you're in the area and have a choice, I'd send you to Clark.

The pond dude! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 2, 2008 Played the course:never

Pros:

For a shared nine hole park course its got some good length. Not just a pitch and then putt course but still a pretty common nine hole park course. Very busy to play, there was a line. A pond comes into play and another hole has a busy street to watch out for. If you are traveling through, the park is near the downtown area. Most of the hole locations and fairways are open but use a few mature trees. Number one is by a park picnic shelter which is a great place for meeting up or waiting for friends before a round.

Cons:

There are the usual park course annoyances here and its pretty busy. I had an outdated map and the course was nothing like the map, it appears that the course has been redesigned to take much of the pond out of play. One and nine crisscrossed witch made for a little congestion.

Other Thoughts:

I saw a few uncommon sights here, a man with a baby jogger full of discs ripping out mutant long arm drives. I also got to see the pond guy everyone who plays this course talks about. I was glad to have finally played Loomiller and have no reservations with making the time to play this one again.
