Cons:

Short
Not finished yet so only 7 holes not 9
Difficult access

Other Thoughts:

Fun course and the first design from Ollie Harris who is doing great things for the sport at Loughborough.

At the moment 2 stars only but this will go up once the final holes are in.

Definitely not a destination course but worth a stop if you are in the area and perfect for getting people into the sport.

It's a bit tighter to other things than I would like in general from a course safety perspective but as the holes are short and the hire discs on site will be Safefly discs it shouldn't be an issue. There is a small risk of discs hitting parked cars on hole 1 and 2 (very small) and also finding their way to neighbours gardens in the winter, again this is a small risk and neither will create serious issues just potential annoyances for non course users.

I really like Holes 8 and 9 playing through the trees down the hill next to the Library building. This is a quiet and secluded area and will be a peaceful place to play in a busy campus.

Holes 1 - 4 play along a quiet footpath at the South east periphery of the campus. There are good lines of sight for each hole and as such should be safe but you may have to wait for walkers coming through. The low canopy makes these tricky little holes and reduces the scatter potential which is good.

Hole 5 is a lovely little shot through an orchard to a basket under a large pine tree and very pretty.

7 and 8 will be really nice additions and will improve flow once permission is signed off from the Library which frustratingly threw up a last minute objection

At the moment the flow is a bit broken because of this and you play 5 holes then have a 150 meter walk along the road to the the 8th basket. This will improve.

Once completed this will be a 2.5 star course, currently waiting on welcome sign, some warning signs and the final two holes to improve flow and overall feel.

If you are not a part of the University the course is playable but you will need to walk on site as security will stop cars coming on. The first hole is just off the Derwent Drive walk in entrance. Be aware that toilets etc might not be available for non Uni members.

All in all the course does exactly what it was designed to do and is a great addition to the world leading sports campus.
