Simple but fun 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 16, 2017 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

- Nice alternative when Paseo is packed. I have never seen another golfer here though there are occasionally people using it for general park purposes
- Good for simple practice rounds or rounds with friends who play casually
- Well maintained

Cons:

- No bathrooms/water fountains
- Not very challenging, Wide open drives/approaches on every hole. A couple holes do have semi-guarded baskets
- No tee pads or even signs telling you where to tee off. With the course map linked here it is easy to navigate but I still don't feel like I'm teeing off from exactly the "right" place

Other Thoughts:

The course is basically a wide-open field with 9 baskets. The challenge is minimal but if you just want to have some fun and avoid the crowds it is worth going to. On days where I show up to Paseo and there are 7-10 groups on the course, I drive to Marbella and have my own private course. For a 9 hole par-3 course, it's relatively long with an average of over 300 feet per hole. I used to go to Freestone as my no-stress practice course but Marbella has taken Freestone's place by being a little longer and less crowded

Not worth the drive if you live on the other side of town and there are better options if you are a visitor to Phoenix, but if you live relatively close, it's worth checking out!
